    2014 Expedition Misfired twice

I changed the plugs on a '99 5.0 exploder one day, customer was waiting while I did it. I jacked it up enough to unload the suspension so as to get to the plugs through the wheel well. Easy peasy. Took half an hour or so. She was amazed that someone would jack up a car to change the spark plugs...

Pictures of my 2014 Expedition - front of the engine and all the room

The V10 was only in the Super Duty trucks and Excursions. My dad has one. Has a lot of torque, but we've had spark plug issues, I put a power steering pump on, new coils, and alternator needed rebuilt a couple summers ago. Truck has about 75-80K on it.

I couldn't find a length comparison, but the weight in this case wouldn't be as important as the overall length. Yes, it is heavier, but it will be less than a hundred pounds, surely.

    Misfire in the 5.4L engine

With all the advice given, the plugs are a lot cheaper than the coils, any mechanic worth his 10mm socket had ought to know to inspect and measure the plugs first.

Pictures of my 2014 Expedition - front of the engine and all the room

Keep in mind the V10 is a fair bit longer than the 5.4. If you've never seen one in a Super Duty, they are not compact. I'll see if I can find some measurements..

    Changed map lights to LED

Pretty my all of the store-bought LED, and some from online are polarity-dependent. That is, they can only work one way. I presume you understand that diode in "LED" means electricity can only flow one way..? Some of the better ones are non-polarity but they have circuitry on the board to...

    2014 Expedition Misfired twice

Mine just did the same thing last night, for the first time. New plugs today, we'll see what results. Been noting a drop in MPGs, figured it was the bigger tires. Not so sure that the size increase is going to cause a loss of 5 MPG though... So like I said, I'm gonna do new plugs in a bit...

    Steering wheel upside down

Because the wheel only fits on the shaft one way...it's not so much keyed as there's a flat spot and a corresponding spot in the wheel. Only goes on one way. His tie rods are out of adjustment, is all. He's trying to get it in shape enough to get to an alignment rack. ;)

    2016 f150 rims on 04 navigator?

Yes, they'll fit. Don't know about the backspacing and offset however, though I wouldn't think it would be so much as to cause issues.

    My '11 EL

Current shot. Damned mud... Bad news....making a front end noise. Gonna get under it tonight after supper and see what I can find out. Has a "scraping" sound that increases with speed. Does it regardless of 4x2, 4x4, or 4 low. I'm hoping it's something as simple as the dust shield slightly...

Those that have had the cam phasers replaced

The 7.3 has VVT or VCT or whatever terminology you want to put on it. It will have cam phasers. Of this there's no doubt, there's video or two of one opened up. If the 6.8 is going to be in an F150, let alone a Mustang (and it will be in trucks at least, a good friend works at the truck plant at...

    Rear Wiper Arm

Yeah, that's the thread that got me to swap mine. Especially as how the blade was bad on mine and couldn't walk into the store and buy a replacement. I read the thread, jumped on amazon, and 4 days later put the new on one. No regrets.

    Ticking in Motor

Motorcraft (or Wix, or Purolator) filters, and full syn oil is all that ever go into my engines, and if you want yours to last, that's what I recommend. I've rebuilt several engines (all Ford) that were ran with fram and cheap oil...two of those were lubed exclusively with trop arctic. That oil...

    Rear Wiper Arm

I put a replacement on mine as the wiper blades for the stock versions are hard to find. I didn't get it quite horizontal, so a few days later I took it off. Even brand new, it was still stuck on pretty good. I used a large flat blade screwdriver and gently pried on it, one side, then the other...

    Steering wheel upside down

Yes, I looked at some images of Expy steering wheels, they are of course like any other Ford wheel, only go on one way, as I'd figured they would. OP, you're on the right track. Get it in the ballpark, replace whatever broken and worn stuff you see, and then get 'er aligned. The string...

How can I remedy an imbalance in my Expy's weight?

That's exactly what was wrong with mine. Then one night we decided to go out to eat, and a couple of friends went with us. It was slick. We made it about a mile before we turned back and got in the Explorer, the expedition felt like it was about to break the rear loose and do 360s in the snow...

How can I remedy an imbalance in my Expy's weight?

Wait a sec.. You said you had struts and whatnot replaced, yeah? Was an alignment done after that? Just having 400 pounds extra weight on the rear (extra) shouldn't affect the steering that much. I've got probably close to that on the rear of my explorer, what with jack, tire tool, subs and...

How can I remedy an imbalance in my Expy's weight?

If you just want to get rid of the rake, then dependent on how much sag there is, rear strut spacers would be the cheapest "fix"... Certainly much cheaper than an air shock, or air bag setup. Do you have a pic of it when it's fully loaded, settled in the rear? Just trying to gauge what amount...

    Show your Lifted 3rd Gens

No point in washing it until it dries a little. Roads are trash around here right now. Freezes, then thaws. Muddy mess, just like spring. C'mon warmer weather, NOW!

Anybody Have a source For Bilstein 5100s in Stock?

I ordered some awhile back from amazon, as I recall, don't seem to remember a terribly long wait for them to come in. NVM, Mine were the 4600. But still, ordered on 12-17 and got them on 12-20.

    2014 Navigator Plug & Coils

Here awhile back, I had a coolant hose burst on my Exploder, after I fixed that, I got the hose out, to wash some of the sticky crap off. I didn't saturate anything, just ran a quick squirt of water (line pressure, no nozzle or sprayer) over the inner fender, passenger side. Just a quick pass by...
