PATS issue, no start, no crank.

This morning, after I'd checked all of Mike's suggestions (of which none had any favorable results, I decided to throw in the towel and called for a rollback to bring the Expy to Ford. Since it's thawing here, the driveway is a muddy disaster, so I decided to pull the Expy down to the end of the...

    2007 Expedition wheel upgrade

On the rear of Expeditions running F150 wheels, the axle end (where the nut goes) sticks out just a tad bit, it will contact the center cap. You can saw a bit off the end of the axle at no danger to the axle or nut so the F150 wheel's cap will clear...pretty easy to do. I'd think you could...

PATS issue, no start, no crank.

That didn't work, with either key. Going to let it sit with neg batt cable discoed for a couple of hours. Had a lot of Fords under my care, never EVER had one with PATS issues. Is there a way to put a tuner on and disable this shit completely? I don't need/want it, especially if it will leave...

PATS issue, no start, no crank.

I'll try that in a few and follow up with results.

PATS issue, no start, no crank.

Have two keys, both were working with no issues. About 2 weeks ago when it got really cold, I'd insert a key, turn to start, and nothing would happen for about 5 seconds. Then the cluster warning lights would come (as normal) and then it would be able to be started. Today, when the key is...

    cheap ass wheel spacers...**** happens.

Cheap pieces of gook shit didn't last long enough to stress bearings and ball joints! LOL

    cheap ass wheel spacers...**** happens.

The "why" of the reason I decided to run spacers isn't so relevant as compared to "why" it (they, collectively) failed... I too stand by cheap studs being the root cause. I checked the torque on the studs just a few days prior...all were "normal" torque for Ford lugs, but apparently not for...

Spark plugs - I'm a little confused about what to buy

The 546 is a one piece plug ;) This THREAD may clear the air a little..

Spark plugs - I'm a little confused about what to buy

I put SP509 in mine. (Must be model year differences...the 509s were recommended OEM replacements for mine. They are not the 2 piece. Mine's an '11, so probably differences. Carry on.)

    Catalytic or cat lock DIY?

I won't say what I'd like to do to thieves, but it does involves a 120' well and a cement block....

    Raptor style grill?

I tend to like this one (I am biased...it's mine)

    Leveling kits.

Any leveling kit for our years of expeditions all do the same thing, mechanically. It boils down to what brand and what amount of "lift" you want. I went with readylift as I felt that 3.5/2.5 was a tad much. There are cheaper kits and some that are more, do your diligence, look at pics if...

    Leveling kits.

I had ordered a 3.5/2.5, but after reading here, seeing a few people post that the brake hoses would be too tight I canceled that order and went with the readylift 3/2 inch setup. The other kit I ordered and canceled was a lot cheaper. Cheap shit...is cheap shit. Beware. ;)

2010 "Check 4x4" when shifting into 4 Low.

Mine did this a time or two when I first got my Expy in December. After the 2nd or 3rd time it worked fine with no abnormal light..

What did you do to the expy today

Same. I either run Interstate, or else the batteries from our local hardware store. They have a pretty flippin' good warranty deal..

    Super bouncy ride

If your coils are stock (you don't have quickstrut replacements) then you're good to go. In my case, the rear coils I reused were the quickstrut coils while the fronts were OEM. So mine sags in the rear even though the resident "expert" swears springs don't sag or settle. I compared the...

Help.... 2007 Expy wiring much needed - no comms, pats, no crank no start etc...

Good looking rig, glad to see/hear it's back to a mobile state of being. Looks really good without running boards, too. What size tires are on? And a winch?! Ballin'! :)

    Bilsteins and spring seats...

That I don't know. I probably would've went with the 5100s if they'd been available (or more accurately, not have a lengthy wait time to arrive) Mine is an '11, I wasn't aware that there is/was a difference in the lower mounting points..

    cheap ass wheel spacers...**** happens.

In my case, to cure a little rub from stock offset wheels (king ranch wheels from an F-WonFiddy. You can safely say they cured the rub. Ughh.

    Super bouncy ride

If they're OEM Motorcraft stuff, they're bad. There's a whole 3 ring circus of debates about what's a good replacement, as not all brands of shocks are equal. I can tell you that I went with Bilstein 4600 all around and am super pleased with the ride. Some might say they're a little too stiff...

    Bilsteins and spring seats...

I'll get the outer dia of the shock tubes for you shortly. I'm fairly certain they'll fit though. If you know for sure that your spring seats will fit a Bilstein 4600 for a '07-'17 Expedition, then they'll also work on Motorcraft OEM replacement. But, to be 100% I'll still measure for you. Just...

    cheap ass wheel spacers...**** happens.

Yeah, the spacer itself didn't break, other than the hub ring once the studs sheared. 5 of the 6 sheared off. I found 4 in the snow. No clue where the other one is. One was still one and intact, else the whole damned wheel would've came off in the yard. That would've been bad.

    Bilsteins and spring seats...

I can't measure my spring seats, but I can get the micrometer out and measure my set of rear motorcraft struts that I bought just for the seats. They are the same dia as the Bilsteins. JFC..I wish I'd known that Bilstein sold those spring seats. Arghhhhhhhh. Give me a bit. I'll have to dig...

What did you do to the expy today

Yes, cheap chinese dogshit. You can say I learned my lesson. I'm just really glad it didn't come loose on the highway. Indeed, my g/f had only just gotten home from town on a grocery run about half an hour before that. I literally made it about 50 feet across the yard when it let go. Holy shit...

What did you do to the expy today

Didn't hit anything, the studs on the spacer snapped and the weight of the Expy punched a hole in the wheel. I now have 5 of the 6 lug nuts and pieces of stud that snapped off... It kinda scares me to think what may have happened on the highway, on a curve, and they'd broke... I'm done with...
