You are correct, the breakaway cable has its own power source. The cable was just the path of least resistance to the electricity that was being provided by whatever was shorting out, this source is what I’m trying to figure out and I’m asking if the buzzard seat behavior could be related.
The...
2018 Navigator Reserve with 30 way seats and tow package.
So this past weekend we were leaving camp and I was hitching up our camper, within a minute or so I smelled burning plastic and look to see the trailers breakaway cable smoking and melting. Quickly I unplug the 7pin plug and the...
So is it doing the cam rattle noise at every start or only cold start? What a complete sh*t show at this point. I know there are outliers to every situation but continued failures like this are laughable.
Y’all should find this interesting. I just called my Lincoln dealer to inquire about a wheel bearing they ordered for a warranty replacement and also to find out what they need to do to diagnose my cam phaser issue that recently went from intermittent to daily. He said that he would order the...
I’ve noticed a slight uptick in my trans temp as well. FWIW I’m in a ‘18 Navi Reserve with tow package. It’s not much of N increase but enough for me to notice… about 5-8 degrees. It started at around 40k miles.
Wow, I’m kinda shocked they admitted to that. I would imagine Ford corporate would want to have that engine torn down and keep hush hush about the findings.
Up until now my Navigator has been great, I believe the Lincoln’s get a little more attention in the fit and finish arena and the service from the dealer is killer. If not for those two items, the fact that it’s been paid off for a while now, and the extended warranty and maintenance plan we...
Yeah that’s what I’m thinking as well but from one of the repairs. It’s been taken apart so many times I’d be shocked if there wasn’t some issues from that. The cam phaser issue is so common it’s too crazy to think it would all come from sealant from the factory, if that was the case it would...
Mine is doing it now as well. I have a wheel bearing on order for a warranty fix and I’m going to have them officially diagnose the rattle when they replace the bearing. Thankfully, I have the extended warranty because I’m about 800 miles until the factory one expires…. Ugh.
How can they tell it came from the factory like that instead of sealant plugging a passage from one of the 5 times they went in to replace the phasers? I’d be shocked if a factory fresh cam had scouring and made it into an engine for assembly, that would require a QC failure of near...
Yeah, I figured as much... they need to replicate before replace. Mine may not even be the phasers... the video is just to help the service advisor hear it and tell me the next step. If I have to let it get to the point it’s happening frequently enough for them to replicate themselves then...
Were you getting the rattle on every cold start? Mine has twice made a rattle noise but that’s out of the last 20 or so cold starts. I’m taking a video of every start now to gather evidence for the service rep. Mine is going in for a possible bearing issue this coming Thursday so if the...
It was time for Lincoln to come get my Navigator for service... they brought me the exact same model I currently have except it was the signature navy blue color. Shockingly, I received a ton of comments while driving it. A couple of my neighbors complimented me on the fancy new upgrade and...
It’s got recovery hooks just like the Expedition but they are behind a piece of the bumper that pops off. I’ve used mine to tie my canoe down before I got the under hood straps.
I’ve had a squeaky drivers seat in one of the lumbar sections (I have the 21 way adjusting seats) and the speaker for the closing deck lid alert replaced under warranty. Everything else has been rock solid. This after many miles towing on forest service roads as well, I’d expect something to...
You can turn it off with forescan.
Your noise complaints go against my own experience with my ‘18 reserve but these types of things are highly subjective.
As for the the head rest... mine is set all the way back, I agree with you on that complaint.
Yup, it’s contrary to what you might think but canoe on top makes the MPG go up when I tow the Conqueror. My guess is the canoe moves most of the wind resistance around the Conqueror instead of it hitting the wind head on.
I’m not mad at it, the dial in the middle is weird but I’m sure it serves a purpose. I see a lot of people doing the ‘Tesla style’ infotainment upgrades and some of those look cool. I would likely miss the tactile buttons, it is nice to be able to adjust stuff by touch. For whatever reason I...
The dust all over the console in that video will haunt me tonight while I try to sleep. Other than that, thanks for the data, I had no clue about this step.
