Does anyone know how to remove a 2015 dashboard?

I don't know if this will work on the Expy...I haven't looked, but on my 1997 Explorer I cut a flap out of the bottom of the heater box under the glove box (pass side) with a Dremel disk, and got access to the actuator motor and blend door. The blend door simply dropped out...it was broken. The...

    Model Number

I've got a 2014 Expedition. I've looked all over, but can't find my model number to determine where my transmission dipstick is located. Does 6R75 or 6R80 sound right? I can't find the dipstick under the hood, so I'm guessing it's a short one on the side of the transmission.

    Factory Brake Controller Question/Issue

Unless you have the electrical systems skills, I'd have that looked at.

    Factory Brake Controller Question/Issue

Possible your electric brakes won't work, but double check by using the manual finger brake control. If the brakes don't work, there's a problem.

    MPG when towing

    2014 5.4L towing a 3500 lb trailer in mountainous terrain...60 mph top speed...12 mpg over 1500 miles.

    Towing Capacity

My TT weighs in at 3500 for trips. 2014 Expy LTD, 3.73 gearing has full HD tow pkg. Avg a solid 12 mpg even pulling in NW mountains. I also installed a WDH with built in antisway.

Andersen W/D hitch - anyone use?

I've been using the Andersen WDH for years...never any bounce, not to mention no sway. The Andersen weight tolerances range widely...0-1400/0-14,000 so you can handle some fairly hefty trailers out there. My lite trailer doesn't get any heavier than 3,500 lbs...hitch weight is about 300-400.

    2nd Row Heated Seats

Mine came with heated rear seats, however the left side rear passenger doesn't work. The seat heater indicator flashes for a second, but that's it...no heat. I've jiggled the wires, etc to no avail.

Trailer Brakes 4 pin to 7 Pin

I had a local shop put in my 7-pin AND controller. Charged me $350. Never had a problem.

Where to put the geny when towing a travel trailer

I carry my Predator 3500...about 85 lbs empty...up just behind the front passenger seat. I lay down a sheet of 3/8" plywood, lift the gen onto it and roll it forward and block the wheels. I balance the weight as evenly as I can. Forward of the rear axle lessens tongue weight. Some day I'm gonna...

    Lacking MPGs

Try calculating your mileage using actual math. You know, distance/gallons used. Not sure you'll like the result. My 2014 gets 12 mpg in the city. It gets 12 mpg towing a 3500 lb camping trailer. No complaints.

Can I trust a 2015-2017 Expedition EL to be reliable AND to tow in Rockies?

I tow all over the Northwest including the Cascades and Rockies. 2014 standard Expy with HD tow package, 3.73 rear end. Tows really well after 3+ years. That said, I can't claim that she takes 5%-6% uphill grades with ease like an F/A-18. I usually throttle back to about 2400 RPM and take what...

    Very disappointed!

Just today completed a 3,119 mile trip through Washington, Idaho, Montana, South Dakota, and Wyoming towing a 3400 lb travel trailer. You know we had some mountains in our way! We didn't do killer daily trips, more like 150-175 miles per day with longest being 310 miles. Regardless of distance...

WDH needed on '17 Limited Expy for 7,600lbs?

I pull my 3100 lb. R-Pod much more comfortably with my Andersen WDH/Antisway system. Whole thing weighs 60 lbs.

    MPGs Suck

2014...12 mpg in and around town, 12 mpg towing our 3100 lb trailer. Rarely take it on long distant highway excursions without the trailer. We use the Lexus 300h for those trips! :)

Purchasing a leased/rental fleet 17 exp Bronze Fire

Ours was a rental. Purchased through Enterprise Sales. 28K on the odometer. HD tow pkg. I found a small stain on the carpeting and they replaced every square inch. Also replaced windshield...small bullseye. Very happy. After 28K all bugs pretty much worked out.

Change or add transmission oil cooler?

So far I've always towed my 3100 lb TT with the tow/haul engaged (same as OD off) and average about 10-12 mpg. Never use cruise control unless I know I've got a long flat straightaway. I watch the tach on climbs and rarely go above 2500 RPM. On a steep grade that'll keep me at a comfortable 45...

    Motor oil change

Until I can't crawl anymore, I will continue to DIY my oil/filter changes. Jiffy Lube forgot to put oil in my brother's work truck after draining it...yep, seized up 1/4 mile from the shop...and their insurance only covered the depreciated value of the old engine. I've got almost 180,000 miles...

    Replacement tires

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the LTX M/S2 M+S has been replaced with the Michelin Defender which I've had for the past 5,000+ miles. I live in the wet and snowy Pacific Northwest and they have performed well. Also very quiet.

Help me choose a used Expedition for towing

I tow a 3,000 trailer with ease with our 2014 with HD tow pkg. Because of the places we go we'll never want anything bigger. Everyone is different, though, and this Expy would allow anyone to upgrade to something bigger.

    Advice sought

Opps! I'm a criminal Arco user...lol. What's a better brand? I'd hate paying .50 more per gallon for minimal performance improvement.
