bike rack vs backup proximity alarm

if I have my hitch rack on my 2019 Expedition Limited, it immediately alarms when I put it in reverse, because the proximity detectors trigger. I thought I could turn this off via the dashboard menus, but I sure can't find any such setting?

    errors up the wazoo.

So, haven't driven my Expedition in a few weeks.... go to start it up, and the brake pedal feels rock hard, after I push 'start/stop', it flashes these errors on the screen. * Engine Coolant Over Temperature * See Manual * Service AdvanceTrac * Blind Spot System Fault * Cross Traffic System...

    tail light fogging

ugh, parked outside, we've had a bunch of inches of rain recently, and I noted today my right tail light assembly is all fogged inside. this is the very expensive Stealth version of the circa 2019 LED tail light. i know eventually I'll need to replace it when this moisture corrodes internal...

curious about the front wheel hubs on the gen4 4x4 with the 2 speed transfer case...

I have a 2019 Limited Stealth 4x4, with the HD tow option and the 2 speed transfer case. I'm curious if the front hubs disengage from the front differential when its in 2H ? My 2002 F250 4x4 had the classic manual locking hubs, that also had vacuum locks so you didn't need to climb out...

    yeesh, mangled crank pulley...

So my '19 is in the shop at 83000 miles getting its cam phasers replaced due to 1 minute+ of rattling at cold start. shop said engine was generally in quite good condition. it had the old style phasers, but there was evidence of previous engine service... specifically, this was the crank...

    trailer tire pressure monitors

are there any trailer tire pressure monitors that can integrate in with the factory system, so I don't need an additional display ? I know they have these for F150's, but I haven't seen anything for Expeditions ?

    CCD at 82000 miles....

How do you decide your CCD shocks are shot ? What sorts of mileage have you CCD owners gone before replacement ? I'm noticing a distinct amount of pogoing after a low speed speed bump, especially the back end bouncing up/down a couple times before settling out. I'm at 82000 miles on my...

    all terrain tires...

so i'm a big fan of BF Goodrich A/T tires for my trucks. Still wearing out some crappy OE tires that came on my 18" wheels, but I was planning on getting KO3 LT275/65R18s except I just watched some vids on alternatives... not sure if I wanna go with the HD All Terrain (yes I know more...

    dashcams for gen4 ?

researching dashcams for my 2019 Stealth...... My wife's Mercedes E350, someone makes a replacement 'shell' for all the domelight and cnosole stuff around the mirror with a dashcam inside, so it all looks stock. you transplant the Mercedes switrches and other bits inside the factory shell to...

    latest sync3 ?

so... is this still the latest sync 3 for a 2019-ish Expy Limited ? I tried 'check for updates', and it just spun and spun and spun, and nothing was happening. FWIW, car was connected to my home wifi, and my phone speedtest from the front seat said 550Mbit/sec down, 24Mbit/sec uplink (I...

    Tail Lights

So, I just broke my 2nd tail light on my 2019 Stealth (jackknifing my trailer while backing up, crunch!), these are the ones that are $1600 at the dealer, and maybe $1200 online. I note there are aftermarket halogen tail lights for the same year range Expedition that are only like $250 for a...

    removing CCD

At 76000 miles, my CCD are getting kinda bouncy. I swapped out the 22" wheels for 18", so I doubt I really need CCDS, and I'm thinking of using conventional Bilsteins. I've gone over the wiring diagram, and as far as I can tell, the CCD shocks just have 2 wires into them which I'm assuming go...

    disabling auto start/stop with forscan...

so, on my 2019 Limited Stealth, I took a stab at disabling Auto Start/Stop with Forscan, but it triggers a error at startup about 'Check Charging System Soon' or something. meh. First, I tried following someone elses howto that had me putting hex codes into various 'AS BUILT' things, but my...

    275/65R18 or 33x12.5R18 ?

Can I fit 33x12.5R18's on a Expy that has 275/65R18's without any other mods ? the 33's are 12.5" section width, the 275/65 are 10.9", so a bit over 1/2" on each side, diameter is 32.5 vs 32.

    44 freekin' computer modules...

I dug out the Launch Creader Elite "Benz' I'd gotten a couple years ago to diagnose my wife's Mercedes, and just futzing around, discovered I could easily upgrade it to support all things Ford too, for $38 (1 year license). Being curious, I went ahead and did it.... and yup, it saw my 2019...

    trailer hitch power

I just got one of those trailer 7-blade testers that has like 6 LEDs. The '12V power' LED never seems to light. My trailer has that wired to a Victron OrionTR 12/18 (12V 18A) DC-DC charge regulator because my last truck didn't output enough voltage to charge my trailer's Lithium batteries...

loud tinkling rattle from engine at idle

I chose to upgrade my 2016's Sync3 and Nav maps tonight after dark, when the temps cooled down from the 95F high today to a sane low 60s/upper 50s. The maps update required letting the truck idle in my driveway for nearly an hour. When I went back out there, there was quite a loud tinkling...

    Cold rattle

so, my 75000 mile 2019 Expedition seems to have a cold rattle, reminds me of my old english cars with loose valves. it stops after about 30 seconds of idle from a cold start. Is this the infamous cam phaser problem ?

    spark plugs at 75000 miles.

So after reading about high mileage spark plugs causing a decrease in mileage, and wondering why I wasn't seeing the sorts of gas mileage others report, I figured 75000 miles wasn't too soon to put in new plugs, just got 6 NGK Ruthenium HX installed. These are the plugs that were pulled...

    303 Graphene Nano Spray Coating

Has anyone tried this stuff on their Ferd ? https://www.goldeagle.com/product/303-graphene-nano-spray-coating/ It sounds like its a lot easier to apply than traditional ceramic coat stuff. I'm thinking of prepping the surface by going over it with a clay bar. I've been using their Aerospace...

    Ford Key fob disable ?

Is there any way to switch the Ford keyfob 'off' entirely ? like my wife's 2016 Mercedes, which is also push to start etc etc, you double click the lock button, you get a long flash from the tiny LED on the fob, and the fob shuts off entirely so it won't do proximity unlock or anything, saves...

B&O 12 speaker stereo has boomy bass

    new tail light

on my 9900 mile Mexican caravan, about mid way, I jacknifed backing up and busted a taillight on my 2019 Expedition Limited Stealth... Coolant consumption

My 2019 Expedition now has about 72,000 mi on it. I'm 7,000 mi into an 8000 mi road trip and it's used a gallon and a half of coolant. There's not a trace of coolant in the oil. There's not a trace of steam in the exhaust. There's absolutely no smell of coolant in the interior or under the hood...
