I returned the computer back to stock and it is still missing. Pending P0305 code on the scanner. I am thinking it's a bad fuel injector at this point.
How many times do I need to start/run the car before I bring to the dealer so they don't see reflash? (In case it's worse than an injector!)
I have been using this plug for years without an issue. When I checked plugs 5 (misfire cylinder), 2, 3, 6, all were still at .032 from 4k miles ago.
I can change them to the 95605 but if the plugs were the issue, wouldn't all of the cylinders be missing?
NGK makes about the best plugs out there. Besides I needed one heat range cooler because of the tune and I could not find one heat range colder in a Ford Motorcraft plug.
I always use 93 octane. I did add fuel injector cleaner at last fillup but only have less than 20 miles on it since.
Oddly enough, the misfire is worse with the new Ford coil and the new NGK sparkplug.
I am going to put the original coil back in and see what happens.
2017 Expy with 5 Star 93 octane tune and NGK 6510 / LTR7IX-11, one heat range colder than stock because of the tune. SUV has 27k miles and has had the tune since 4k miles with zero issues until now.
I keep getting a P0305 code on the #5 cylinder. I swapped the plug (no arcing on existing) with...
It would make it more uniform. I would use the Plastidip paint. If you don't like it, it will remove easily.

I had some jerk brake check me on the interstate and I hit him. Thankfully it was recorded on the dashcam and the police gave the guy a ticket for reckless driving once they saw the dashcam video. To make matters worse he had no insurance. I will have to file a claim against my collision and pay...
I have Powerstop cross-drilled / slotted rotors and yellow EBC brake pads. The stopping power increased so much that I had to install Bilstein shocks on the front to keep the nose from dropping down when I slammed on the brakes. Best upgrade ever next to the SCT X4 tuner.
My 08 Expy with 120k miles has the original coils and boots. Boots were not torn, ripped or dry rotted. Coils working fine. I change the plugs every 20k miles and I place a dab of dielectric grease in the tip of the boot each time.
Spark plugs every 20k miles. Like the other posts, the EcoBoost is tough on spark plugs. Even worse if you have a tuner. I go through plugs in 15k miles. I feel slight misses but no CEL. When I change the plugs it goes away for another 15k miles.
I would also change your transmission fluid and...
LED lightbulbs. I have the Fahren in my 08 and 17 Expy. They have fans to keep them cool. Driving at night is much improved and people don't flash their high beams at me so I will say I am not blinding anyone.
I have the Hellwig's on my 17. No change in ride quality, the suspension is not stiffer, but the cornering is greatly improved. Next to the SCT X4 tuner, it was one of the best upgrades on my Expy.
What changed between 2017 and 2018 that is causing all of this? I know that fuel injection changed and added port injection was in addition to the direct injection. I also know about the 10-speed auto.
Is this something that happens to 2017 models? I only have 25k miles on mine.
I have the front/rear Hellwigs on my 17 Expy. It made a huge difference. Less leaning in curves. It handles much better. Install was less than one hour for both. Next to the tuner and Bilstein shocks, it was a very good upgrade.
Dual fans are used to cool the radiator/engine. My 2017 Expy has dual electric fans.
An aftermarket "intercooler" will help lower the boost temps but you really need a tune and bigger turbos to take full advantage of an aftermarket intercooler.
I would measure the resistance of all 8 coils. If one or two of them is vastly different than the others, replace those. No need to throw away parts that are working fine.
My wife's 08 Expy still has the original coil packs.
I used Moog on my 08 Expy. It has the zirk fitting on it. I used the loaner ball joint press from Advance Auto. Sprayed both ball joints with PB Blaster the day before and they came out very easy.
