Anybody using Amsoil OE 5W30 in Ecoboost with good results or good analysis. Also any success with amsoil signature ATF on the 6R80?

Not needed. I posted my Magnatec results on here. There are more UOA results on Bobistheoilguy forum. The Magnatec 5W-30 did well with a 9K interval.

Over the past ten years I've used about $500+ dollars worth of Amsoil products to support a friend in the business. After he died I returned to good synthetics and have never looked back. Todays lubricants are one of the reasons we now get upwards of 200K miles on our cars before they give up. Back in the day it was a valve job at 50-60K and an overhaul at 75K. But lubricants were paraffin based in those days.

Other than advertising "oil is oil" and boutique brands sold by Amway-scheme vendors out of their garage may be different in formulation or additives but no better than any other brand. 5W-30 is 5W-30 regardless of the label. The engine really doesn't care although "car guys" all have their favorites often (usually?) based on warm fuzzy feelings. :) Old country saying of "Best way to start a fight is to criticize a man's mother, woman, truck, or dog." should be amended to add "engine oil." :)

Full synthetics score well in my car's engine oil analysis although I suspect conventional oil will as well. A 5W- or 0W- grade will undeniably offer better startup lubrication than a 10W- regardless of engine temperature. I use the Ford 5W-30 full synthetic oil 'cuz the local dealer does my annual oil change although I'm skeptical full synthetics need to be dumped annually in the few miles I drive the truck a year. I only change the oil in my little car when Blackstone Labs tells me to change it.

I use Kirkland full synthetic from Costco. IMO expensive full synthetics in passenger vehicles is a waste of money.

I would love to see a UOA on that. According to the bobistheoilguy forum, it's from Warren Distributing and has a good additive pack. I almost scored a multi-pack on sale, but realized it would take awhile for me to recoup the modest savings over the Magnatec I normally use.

I disagree. For example, your Motorcraft oil ( you referred to it as Ford oil) is not made by Ford. ConocoPhillips manufacturers Motorcraft for Ford.

They also make Kendal 1 GT motor oil. The synthetic has a far better additives package than the spec by Ford and it cost about $5 qt.

When I switched from MC to Kendal 1 I could hear the difference. It’s just better quality ie additives for the money.

Not all are the same.
