That 03 should have an interior light defeat in the dimmer switch. Roll it all the way down until it clicks. My 03 had it. One of the best features, IMHO.
I'm getting back into an Excursion. I've missed ti since I sold my last one.
My 03 will be traded in for an 2005 XLS, 2WD, V10, 9-passenger Excursion. It's simple and roomy!
Now...what did I do with that number to Banks Power Products??
Nice chattin' with y'all! :D
(Of course, if...
I never took pics.... :)
BUT! I do have an article for you that has pics. It is not an 03 but brakes are brakes.

Lights are a simple swap but the HALO part required some splicing into the parking llight power wire. Very easy to do.
I removed them as I didn't care for the light pattern. I could improved it by replacing bulbs to better ones but lost interest. :)
Want 'em? $75 plus I'll ship 'em to you...
If the charge is too low then the compressor won't kick on at all.
Sounds like the clutch is bad or needs some spacers. (That is all listed in the service manual.)
The AC eventually gets cold though, right??
It is very straight forward.
Have you changed brakes before?
--------------
-->Pull the wheel.
-->Remove the two bolts that hold the caliper on.
-->Pull the outside pad off. (There is a spring that holds it on. Don't bend it or lose it and make sure you notice how it goes on...
Re: Re: Well I picked up a 99 Expy. Pics and a question inside.
Yeah, but for dial-up users (not me) waiting for those huge images to download sucks. Posting links is always a more...courteous... thing to do. :)
Sounds like your oil pump is going. But it could be as simple as the sending unit. I do not know how to test the sending unit but imagine that it cannot be too expensive.
The oil level doesn't have anything to do with the oil pressure light/guage. And there is no sensor for that function.
I was thinking that it could be the actuator until you said that you cannot push it down yourself.
Try pulling the panel to inspect it's operation (or lack thereof) visually.
Nice truck! :)
You can look at the axle code of the door jamb label.
If it is two digits (numbers) then it is an open diff.
If it a letter followed by a number then it is a Limited Slip.
Friction modifier can be purchased at NAPA. You gotta go to the more "hard-core" auto parts stores versus the...
1. Do you have a Limited Slip? As you probably already know, they need the friction modifier. If it is an Open Diff, then it doesn't need and it sounds as if your side gears are bad.
That sucks because it ain't real cheap to fix.
Are you certain he used the correct fluid?
DO NOT BUY THE IAC FROM THEM! DO NOT LET THEM DO ANYTHING TO YOUR TRUCK!
YOU CAN CLEAN THE IAC YOURSELF AND EVEN IF YOU HAVE TO REPLACE IT IS LESS THAN $50.
JT sold this site to someone else.
The guy is non existant.
He offered to sell the site in which I responded favorably to buy it but have not heard from him since.
Go figure...
It should be fully open at 192°F. I would replace it and see if the problem persists.
I think something electrical is getting heated up and shutting down the engine.
If you overheat the engine it'll go into limp mode which shuts off certain cylinder's fuel & spark turning them into air...
The driver's side widow gets the most workout in the life of the car. My guess is that the motor is getting dirty and worn.
It is a relatively easy swap if you got the tools. Try an auto scrap yard and get one from one of the back doors. They are usually used much less and will still have...
So that it won't go into Overdrive. That button locks out overdrive.
FYI, Overdrive in cars/trucks TYPICALLY is NOT another gear. Now on motorcycles is not uncommon for 6th (and sometimes 5th) to be an overdrive gear.
You should really read that link I posted. It'll really give you a...
Congrats on your new truck & welcome to the forum! :D
Nothing really sticks out in my mind as far as concerns about the 02. Jus drive it and enjoy it! :)
The best way to check the condition of your rings and/or valve seals is to do leakdown & compression test.
If it is not leaking oil on the ground then only these test will reveal where the oil is going or should I say, HOW it is going out. :)
