Update and possible reason for my liftgate issue.
1. I forgot to mention that we have the automatic lift gate option on our XLT.

Ford classifies the rear as a strut and covers it under the Ford Premium care warranty. $100 deductible. Gonna stick with the stock struts for now until the warranty is up at 100k. If they blow out after that, we’ll be upgrading to Bilsteins.
So are these classified as MacPherson Struts that we have or shocks? Ford covers MacPherson struts according to the certified warranty. Ironically, Ford can’t tell me this without looking at the vehicle.
Purchased a used 2018 Expy XLT Ford Certified with ~45K. Put about 2,000 miles on it. Puddle of oil discovered under the drivers rear shock. Not sure Ford will cover even with the warranty so looking to replace with after market myself. Question, does the shock come out through the spring or...
