    had battery disconnected for about 3 hours last night and no luck, pretty sure the wheels are already in motion on the tow so to speak ..

    OK so apparently what happened was they lost the key several months back and had new ones made.... My brother had tried to start the car with the old key (they ended up finding it) ... and this set off the security system .. the kicker is now it apparently it has to be towed to Ford to fix...

    great, thanks for those .. the comment before about the little arm on the starter motor may prove relevant, when I jumped the solenoid and the starter spun and spun but did not engage the flywheel, perhaps it does need a tap for the arm to engage?

    I think it was more of an electrical buzz, I only really got to pop in and troubleshoot for a few minutes before work but heading back tomorrow... to clarify when I said "it' just seems to buzz I meant the truck, not the starter itself ....

    Hello all, I figured I would post and see if anyone here could lend a hand troubleshooting the no start issue on my parents' expedition. It seems to just buzz when key turned yet all charged up, all lights work, etc etc .. I jumped the solenoid with my bro trying to crank and starter spins...
