    An automotive locksmith can cut you a new key blade for a few bucks. If you have 2 keys for your new car you can program the old one yourself. If you only have 1 key the locksmith can do it for a lot less than the dealer.

    It sounds like your alternator is not working. With the car running you should be getting 13 - 14.3 volts, not 12.1v

    What year is your car? On my 2001, there is a hole in the steering column cover and you just stick a thin screwdriver in and slowly turn the key. Once the pin is depressed the cylinder will come out. If you have a 2003 or newer I THINK you have to remove the cover and the pin is on the ignition...

    Key Fob

    Do your keys start your car? If they do then you don't need a new key. If you mean the fobs don't work then try changing the battery. If you have push button start then put the fob in the slot mentioned in the owners manual and your car will start. Then replace the batteries.

    I had a problem like that on my 2001 for over a year. The connector on the solenoid going to the starter switch ended up being loose. A little aluminum foil on the terminal fixed the problem.

    Try pushing the key / lock cylinder in when you try to start the car.

    Not starting, not the battery.

    Remove the small wire from the starter solenoid and clean both the terminal and the connector.
