2008 Expedition EL, under the driver door. Like it's not bad enough that all the paint is falling off the hood and hatch now I am getting rot under the driver door. This real common, and is there anything that can be done? Truck doesn't see a lot of sand or salt or anything, it's pretty well...
Wife took the truck and got it washed, and now the radio reception is non existent. They did clean the windows inside and out. Is it possible that grid could have been damaged just cleaning the windows? Is there a connector near that window somewhere that could have gotten knocked off? It's dark...
So does anyone know how to get to the rear tubes? Do you go up from underneath the truck? I sure as hell can see them when I am sticking my head out of the sunroof. The front ones are easy to see and clean, but I just don't know where the rear ones are located so I can snake them out.
From on top of the truck I can see the front tubes. Totally clean and water flows right through no problems.
However I can not see the back ones at all. They gotta be way back in the assembly. How do you access these? I pulled the weatherstrips and pulled down on the headline a bit and...
How many drains are there for the sunroof? I have found the two in the front corner, is there any in the rear corners? If so could someone post a picture?
The truck is a 2008 Expedition EL with a DVD player full of water.
Thanks!
Chris
Regardless of mileage, this should still be fixed by Ford. This is not a result of improper care or wear and tear. It is the result of improper surface prep. So year and mileage should not matter.
I hope you are right. But as someone who works in the industry for 20+ years, they don't care as much about repeat customers as you think. Their mindset is that for every repeat customer they lose, they will just find new ones instead. It's easier to find a new one than keep an old one. I was...
If you put them out of business who will repaint your hatch?
Even if they got smacked with a massive class action over this, it wouldn't even put a dent in their bottom line. They would not even bat an eye at something like this.
I hate t say it, but you are correct. That is the only way to get things like this handled these days. Even then they will only do what will cost the least amount of money. If that is painting hatches they will paint hatches. If that is paying a lawyer to tell all of us to screw off, then they...
We have some paint peeling on our hatch as well, on a 2008. I am honestly amazed that Ford doesn't do something to address this. When you mention it to a local dealer they chuckle and say yeah they all do that.
WTF Ford? I worked as a Dodge tech for almost 20 years ans we repainted cars all...
I can probably give you a pretty good comparison, we came out of a similiar year Suburban.
The Expedition provides a different experience than the Bow Tie products. With the independent suspension, I find the ride quality and handling to be much better in the Ford than it was in the Chevy...
Would anyone here who has a newer Nav disc take it out and look at the bottom and see what color it is?
I know a lot of the fake import Nav discs can be spotted this way.
Thanks!

No I didn't by it new, I bought along with the Nav unit I purchased. The Nav unit came with the original 7p disc and I was given the chance to also purchase 13p disc for $100. I figured since the original disc was 2007 it was probably time for an update.
My concern came when I took out the...
I recently picked up a factory nav unit and installed it in the truck. There is also an extra update disc included, but when installed it seems to lock the nav up. If I use the old disc it's fine.
Is there anyway to spot a fake/copied nav disc?
Thanks!

What is the correct method of programming? I did it like this:
Jumped in, turned key on.
moved mirrors and seats to correct position
press the set button, and then number one.
How does the remote come into the picture though? When I push unlock on my remote, it should move to my settings...
Ok everything seems to check out. I disconnected the battery for a bit today and when I popped it back on the mirrors seems to work. If I press the one or two on the side of the seat, the mirrors and seats will move to the correct position. If I jump in and stick the key in the ignition, only...
We actually just picked up the truck in October. Haven't really had the time to play around with stuff until recently. I first noticed it a couple of weeks ago, but I would guess it was probably that way when I got it. My wife just grabbed the truck for some Xmas shopping, so I am sure I...
