    Yet another 4x4 problem .. help

    So i ohmed out the switch and its good. I disconnected the harness at the xfer case motor , it was full of crap so i cleaned it out and reconnected it and tried the 4wd. It worked ... but now im stuck in 4l any one know how to get it out, im also not getting a 4x4 light and the check engine...

    Ive checked that fuse and it is good , what i want to know does power run to the shift motor on the xfer case first or to the switch. I am getting nothing at all no noise no 4x4 light no engagement , is the shift motor a likely problem or do i need to trouble shoot the switch ?

    Thanks , just from everything ive read about the 4wd systems of the 97 to 02 fords it had me looking at the vacuum system, i will go ahead and check check that fuse and see if it popped between when i last checked it and now.

    I just picked up a 1999 expedition about 2 weeks ago, everything works on it with the exception of the 4wd. Ive read alot of the posts about this with the 4wd being stuck people getting blinking lights, the 4x4 light coming on and the front diff not engaging or the windshield leaking on the gem...
