Bilstein 4600 front spring seats problem 2012 XL stock height

Yeah, you waited too long and there are no cheap options anymore. Maybe reach out to bilstein and see if you can order just the bottom seats and isolators. They sell the front 5100s with lower seats and coils as a package for the f150.

Has anyone ran RUTHENIUM HX in a 2007 5.4?

Ironic timing -- I just installed these on Saturday. Haven't had a chance to test their performance yet as I'm waiting on parts (replacing the AC compressor, alternator, and some idler pulleys while I'm under the hood) but will report back once I have some miles on them. I will say, despite...

    14+ Suspension on 2010 Expedition

Please don't leave us hanging :) Have you had a chance to tackle the install? If so, how'd it go?

    2011 Expedition Tow Mirrors

F150 mirrors won't fit. These are what you want: https://www.1aauto.com/ford-expedition-lincoln-navigator-driver-and-passenger-side-2-piece-mirror-set-trail-ridge-tr00078/i/1amrp01650/8077846/2011

    2011 Expedition Tow Mirrors

Any of the temporary strap-on style mirrors are going to be a bit janky. It's worth the cost and effort to upgrade to real tow mirrors. The install is genuinely easy.

To each his own. My truck deserves better than JB Weld.

Expy 2010 rattle sound when 1st start in the morning

Last reply caught my attention... If you do drop the oil pan, take the opportunity to replace the oil dipstick tube. $26 part and they tend to rot about halfway up. I just went through the process of replacing the dipstick tube about a month ago and it was rusted into the block. Had to drop...

Expy 2010 rattle sound when 1st start in the morning

Stick with Ford parts or you'll be back in there again. While you have things open install an upgraded Melling oil pump and new Ford roller followers. YouTube FordTechMakuloco has the most in-depth videos on the what and why behind the 5.4 engines and how to properly repair and maintain them...

    Code B1342 B1676 Expy 2010 2WD

My truck would sometimes throw ABS codes and the dash brake warning indicator would light up. Chased the issue with my wallet for a bit, and each new part improve braking as I was replacing worn parts anyway, but never fully fixed the issue. Last year I looked into replacing the ABS module and...

    14+ Suspension on 2010 Expedition

That's a really good question. As much as I've been under my truck replacing parts, including the LCAs, I never once considered upgrading them to the newer model to get more shock fitment options. Definitely following this thread to see what comes of it.

2012 6R80 Transmission Service preparation and part confirmation

While the pan is off replace the bulkhead connector to avoid leaks in the future. While your cooler is disconnected, replace the hose sections forward of the hard lines. Metal fatigue has caused enough of them to fail that it's worth the preventative step of cutting off the complex factory...

Rear Wiper blade replacement on 3rd Gen ( 2015 ) Expedition?

I replaced my rear wiper arm with Dorman 42651 and have run standard wiper blades ever since. It's convenient.

    Main Frame Rust repair

Late response here but yeah rust on the rockers and frame is an issue. Best bet is to cut out the rusted sections and weeks in fresh steel. Also, stay on top of undercoating. Lanolin-based stuff sprayed everywhere, especially inside the frame rails and cross members, annually is key if you live...

    "check brake systems"

Quite a bit of time has passed since you post but I managed to solve my issue for free. After throwing parts at the truck (master cylinder, brake booster, vacuum lines, etc.) the issue remained intermittent. It wasn't a total loss because after 200k+ miles the truck definitely benefited from...

    3rd Gen Suspension

A bit late in my response here but yes. I'm running 2014+ Bilstein 5100s on the rear of my 2010 without issue.

2013 EL Limited squatting when towing

For my 2010 EL I contacted coilsprings.com and had them make a custom set of coils. Price was in line with factory off-the-shelf coils. For my setup I went with +1" ride height and coil spring rate of 900#/in compression. Mounted on Bilstein 5100s it rides great whether empty or towing.

    Bilsteins and spring perches

I've ordered them. They're too small. Buy the cheapest Motorcraft Expedition shocks you can find and strip them down. You'll get the spring seat as well as the isolator. Used to be a bit cheaper but these days ASH24742 is $40 from rockauto.

Tell me this isn't what I think it is

I know that feeling. I redid all the moving parts on my truck a few years back (all suspension components, bearings, re-geared the differentials, new axles, etc.) and it felt like a brand new truck for awhile, but the reality of having 200k+ miles on the frame and body is hard to hide. I had...

    2007 coil to air conversion

There's a solid chance this option is no longer valid as it was from 5 years ago, but I had found a source for exactly what you want to do: https://www.expeditionforum.com/threads/heavy-towing-load-handling-rear-suspension.42800/ I instead had custom rate coils made and have been happy with...

    "check brake systems"

If it's related to temperature I'd suspect the vacuum system. The brake booster has an engineered life of 150k miles, and was the cause of my issues. I'd sometimes see the dash light pop up but it was super intermittent and seems related to temps. Over time (~2 years) it became more frequent...

Tell me this isn't what I think it is

The factory parts are plastic that tend to crack, thus losing oil pressure causing timing issues in top of other parts wearing. The metal parts don't suffer the same problem, and since they're not a component that other parts rub on, they cause no additional wear in the system.

Tell me this isn't what I think it is

Where are you ordering from? The Motorcraft timing set is available for $270 on Amazon at the moment. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08L5FH7PG I have my parts list if I ever have to do the job before I put the truck up for sale, and one upgrade would be to swap in Melling chain tensioners to...

    2007 Front Hitch

Not sure if or how the frames differ from 2007 to 2010 but this would be your best bet: https://www.etrailer.com/Front-Receiver-Hitch/Ford/Expedition/2010/C31068.html
