Check sway bar bushings and tie rods too. When you say alignment is perfect, do you mean an alignment shop said it is aligned perfectly or drives straight going down the road? These aren't always the same thing.- Bain64

"HD" tow package 2005 Eddie Bauer
No i dont know him, he just happened to post very recently and it only has 82k miles which was surprising. Picture 2 and a little piece of 11 on the craiglist ad show rocker panel, at least way more than mine. Drivers door and other angles aren't available though I admit, but i bet if you ask...- Bain64

2003 Expy XLT: Rear sway bar bushing bracket/holder bolts spin.
Do the end of the bolts have a hex head on it? It looks like you could put a box wrench on the nut, and a socket or wrench on the end of the bolt to prevent the bolt from turning. Otherwise soak it with a penetrant and try an impact wrench. I too upgraded to a Belltech, replacing the whole sway...- Bain64

Need advice: Keep or sell
I must be missing something here... How do you remove and replace valve covers and then the rockers in less than an hour? Maybe if the motor was pulled already?? I agree with your sentiment either way, just more curious about the 'less than an hour' thing than anything- Bain64

Can't get a reading from ODB port

Odd 4WD problem
Hey Terence, a few quick questions.. What model year is the expy? Do you mean A4WD instead of AWD? I didn't think you could have AWD and 4x4 both, but I learn something new every day. What road the road conditions, are you driving in 4x4 on dry pavement?- Bain64

Welcome to the forum John! Yea the cat is toast, but it doesn't seem clogged yet, power still seems good, but I'm sure that's eventually coming for it. My misfire rate is low, something like 1 or 2 misfires per 1,000 cylinder 'events'.- Bain64

Thanks for the extra info John, check out my post (#25) on page 3 to see my O2 graphs using the Forscan for iOS app. The bank 2 catalyst looks pretty grimm... That's a good tip on the propane, I have not used that method yet.- Bain64

Looking at the link MrSticker provided, it looks like a mechanic employed by a dealer or a police officer can verify the VIN. Maybe the dealership would do it for free, I've read that others have had success with that route.- Bain64

What option are you using to reset the mode 6 data? I don't see that option in Forscan or InCarDoc, it pulls current data fresh each time instead. Do you mean clearing the DTC's and does that clear the mode 6 data like you're talking about?- Bain64

No i was not clearing the codes between tests, Mode $06 uses live data. Seriously considering all new coils like you mention. I also found that the Duralast (autozone) coils on it now have lifetime warranty, might go talk to Autozone about swapping them out. My aunt bought the Expedition from...- Bain64

Well the misfires have not gone away, and seem to be spreading. To recap: Plugs are Motorcraft Sp479, replaced 2,000 miles and 3 months ago. Duralast COPs (unknown install date). Replaced cylinder 1 and 8 with new Motorcraft DG508 coils with seemingly no effect. P0430 code is back for...- Bain64
