    Torque Steer?

Check sway bar bushings and tie rods too. When you say alignment is perfect, do you mean an alignment shop said it is aligned perfectly or drives straight going down the road? These aren't always the same thing.

"HD" tow package 2005 Eddie Bauer

No i dont know him, he just happened to post very recently and it only has 82k miles which was surprising. Picture 2 and a little piece of 11 on the craiglist ad show rocker panel, at least way more than mine. Drivers door and other angles aren't available though I admit, but i bet if you ask...

"HD" tow package 2005 Eddie Bauer

I know where to find a great low mileage HD tow 2004 eddie bauer expy right now! Are you near NY or willing to drive? This 2004 has less than 82k miles, and he's ready to bargain https://www.expeditionforum.com/threads/selling-my-blk-eb-expy.38923/...

2003 Expy XLT: Rear sway bar bushing bracket/holder bolts spin.

Do the end of the bolts have a hex head on it? It looks like you could put a box wrench on the nut, and a socket or wrench on the end of the bolt to prevent the bolt from turning. Otherwise soak it with a penetrant and try an impact wrench. I too upgraded to a Belltech, replacing the whole sway...

    Need advice: Keep or sell

I must be missing something here... How do you remove and replace valve covers and then the rockers in less than an hour? Maybe if the motor was pulled already?? I agree with your sentiment either way, just more curious about the 'less than an hour' thing than anything

Can't get a reading from ODB port

Test fuse 41, probably 20 amp. Your owners manual should list it as 'OBD II diagnostic connector' or maybe something about 'data link'. http://www.fordservicecontent.com/Ford_Content/catalog/owner_guides/04exdog3e.pdf

    Odd 4WD problem

Hey Terence, a few quick questions.. What model year is the expy? Do you mean A4WD instead of AWD? I didn't think you could have AWD and 4x4 both, but I learn something new every day. What road the road conditions, are you driving in 4x4 on dry pavement?

    Vacation - Battery disconnect ?

Hey MrSticker, as you discovered yes you should charge a new battery after purchase. They slowly discharge just sitting on the shelf. Glad you've got it all solved.

    Misfire count

Welcome to the forum John! Yea the cat is toast, but it doesn't seem clogged yet, power still seems good, but I'm sure that's eventually coming for it. My misfire rate is low, something like 1 or 2 misfires per 1,000 cylinder 'events'.

    Misfire count

Thanks for the extra info John, check out my post (#25) on page 3 to see my O2 graphs using the Forscan for iOS app. The bank 2 catalyst looks pretty grimm... That's a good tip on the propane, I have not used that method yet.

Moose, unfortunately the regulator is integral to the pump on the 2003. Unless you're saying I can somehow replace just that part on the pump assembly?

    Misfire count

Toby - yea Mode $06 is where I've been tracking the misfires. No misfire codes are being thrown, I'm only chasing the misfires because of the P0430 light that came on (but hasn't been back in a few days now). When I changed the COP's I reset the computer (removed positive cable from battery &...

    2004 VIN plate locations?

Looking at the link MrSticker provided, it looks like a mechanic employed by a dealer or a police officer can verify the VIN. Maybe the dealership would do it for free, I've read that others have had success with that route.

    Misfire count

The new coil packs did not help the misfires.. As an aside, the drivers door window regulator broke last night, and now the wife is encouraging me to start shopping for vehicles. I think I'm going to limp this one along until after the family Disney trip and start looking for a 13-14 Expedition...

    Misfire count

It's a 2003. You're absolutely right, it was hard for me to justify when there weren't any other symptoms except high fuel pressure. I've only owned it a year and spent more than 50% of the original purchase price in repairs, and was holding off on what I could.. And at this point I'm pretty...

    Fuel Pump Recommendations?

I'm glad you mentioned airtex, this is what I'm looking at https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0019O2YYG/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1 it's only $120 on Amazon or Rockauto. You mention $150, so do you think that specific Airtex (E2360M) is good enough, or is it a lower-tier...

    Misfire count

I have the $28 chinese brand coil packs on the way as a test, arriving tomorrow.. But digging into the shop manual a bit more, i'm wondering if my high fuel pressure is what's causing these minor misfires... Misfire count

What option are you using to reset the mode 6 data? I don't see that option in Forscan or InCarDoc, it pulls current data fresh each time instead. Do you mean clearing the DTC's and does that clear the mode 6 data like you're talking about?
  23. Bain64

    Misfire count

No i was not clearing the codes between tests, Mode $06 uses live data. Seriously considering all new coils like you mention. I also found that the Duralast (autozone) coils on it now have lifetime warranty, might go talk to Autozone about swapping them out. My aunt bought the Expedition from...

    Misfire count

Well this doesn't look good for the bank 2 cat, the rear o2 sensor trends very closely with the front o2 sensor... My question stands from the prior post though, how do i better diagnose the misfires?
  25. Bain64

    Misfire count

Well the misfires have not gone away, and seem to be spreading. To recap: Plugs are Motorcraft Sp479, replaced 2,000 miles and 3 months ago. Duralast COPs (unknown install date). Replaced cylinder 1 and 8 with new Motorcraft DG508 coils with seemingly no effect. P0430 code is back for...
