when my battery was on the fritz my whole dash would die for a second then come back on . the truck would want to die then start firing like normal . changed batteries and boom no more issue .
I was thinking of putting one on my 04 .let me know what ya find if anything . I was thinking a mustang one of the same year but hadn't checked yet . Kinda pricy.
I used Detroit axle on mine 4 yrs ago and they are still going strong. Going to install a new set all the way around when installing my lift and brakes.
Ok I just put a new crate in my 04. I spent 4700 roughly but it has 3 yr unlimited mileage warranty way better than a 500+ car payment. Truck had 160k when I had the new put in. Body was sound have a bunch of parts waiting to go on. I think it was better for me to go that route.
As far as the 4wd . silly question is the knob plugged in? I had my dash apart for radio install and forgot to plug it in . Found out when i went wheeling that night. Woke allot of people having to high rev with open exhaust. Lol.
Good luck. And keep us posted
I fit 285 70 17 on a stock 04 .i have a 3.5 2.5 lift to put on it. Should fit 35s. I trail ride and river run with mine and at stock it does just fine for little stuff.
What programers do you have and what would work for an 04 4.6l xlt 4x4. I want more power and to be able to reset my speedo for tire size and gears in the future . thanks in advance. Want3d
My cats were hollowed out and no muffler peace of straight pipe welded into factory spot sounded great. Very. Very. Loud. Put a 40 series on it and now ots mellow with the ability to talk when i press it down. Lol.
so he said that when I shut it off it may have jumped time and when I tried to start it unknowingly damaged the valves being a zero tolerance motor. the trouble shooting was done at home and with no success I took it to him.
I will say it was low on oil so its probably my fault but it is...
no I didn't but it was not firing in the correct order from what the mechanic said. he said it was popping back threw the intake. also said there was little to no compression
I have a motor on the way. wanted to opt for a more modified but cant afford at the moment so ill stick with stock. still gonna be nice to drive it again.

here they are from accel direct didn't see them on amazon this time ill keep looking
I went on amazon and bought a full set of accel coils for 200 shipped to the house that cured my miss. also I've always used motor craft plugs. don't know if that's the case but worth a shot.
so after some time in the shop it has been determined to have jumped time. I was told about 2k to fix that including labor. I'm opting for a new crate engine with 3yr unlimited mile warranty.
I would like to see some custom front bumpers where i dont have to cut anything frome the factory cover. And a rear tire holder bumper like the old broncos .
The bearing was bad enough that the abs sensor couldnt read. I had taken it to my local tire shop and i always shake it down when its in the air. Thats how i found it .
Good luck. And keep us posted .
This may sound very weird but check your passenger side rear wheel bearing.
My 04 was making that noise and had the same issues and after wheel bearing in the passenger side rear it went away .no issues for 3 years now.
