That’s what is going on with everything. Manufacturers have complexified products to the extent that the items are not repairable. Access for repairs is almost nonexistent, the parts prices are sky high ($100.00 for a headlight bulb on a NAVIGATOR!)….It’s to the point where one buys an item...- Bob Lewis

Paint on lift gate bubbling, is there anything being done to correct this problem? I have a 2012, lift gate paint is bubbling and starting to crack
I have a 2003. Sane BS. Ford issued a TSB. That's it! Bottom line; Ford doesn't know how to paint Aluminum.- Bob Lewis

spark plugs socket size?
It's now October 17, 2021. I had the same question, since I changed the plugs on the wife's '07 Navigator. It uses plugs with a 9/16" wrenching flat. I'm on my '03 and it looks like these are a 5/8" plug. I'm betting the 9/16" plugs came out with the '05, VCT engines. Not sure, but a guess...- Bob Lewis

That's not helpful. It's October 17, 2021 and I'm sill looking for the correct size plug wrench. My wife's '07 Navigator has 9/16" wrenching flats, so I thought the '03 Expedition did, too. I have the Gear Wrench set of magnetic, 5/8" sockets, but first used the 9/16" wrench. I'm working...- Bob Lewis

Wrong fluid in T-Case
Definitely do not use MERCON V. It will eat up any plastic parts in the Transfer Case. I put ATF in my 2003 and 2004 XFER Cases.- Bob Lewis

I did it... Bought the beast! Makes my Expy look small!
She looks good! I remember one time, doing microwave oven service calls, I came to a house and the guy had 2 Epys and an Excursion. I mentioned that the Excursion was great looking and he said he didn't realize that it wouldn't fit in his garage. LOL- Bob Lewis

Well, we just got the truck from the dealer on Wednesday. It's been too cold and with my tractor spread all over my shop, there was no place to work on it. It turned out to be some connector under the driver seat causing the problem. If I had found it, I would have attempted to repair it, but...- Bob Lewis

Mirrors/seats moving erratically when unlocking with key fob
We had the same problem with our 2003. I had replaced the Ignition switch after watching a YouTube video that showed a sensor connection act up when the key was in the ignition. No luck with that. I had planned to try to fix it, but ended up being out of commission due to a broken shoulder...- Bob Lewis

Dash Lights and Other Questions
Hello, Mike, I always use www.alldatadiy.com for my manuals. The Ford CD sounds like a great way to go, as well. I'm currently fussing with a 2003 Eddie Bauer that has Memory Seat/Mirror/Pedal issues. Have not done much due to a broken shoulder and the blasted cold up here in North Dakota...- Bob Lewis

LOL !! No, I laid a potato truck over and broke my right shoulder. It was a crappy road and a guy who lives 1/4 mile from there said I was the 6th truck to go in 5 months. That did not make the damn thing any less painful, though.- Bob Lewis

Just thought I'd give you an update. I broke my shoulder on September 26 and have not been able to get back on the car. I'm hoping to do so in 3 or 4 weeks. Breaking a shoulder is NOT recommended!!!- Bob Lewis

Okay, 1955moose! I did see the one about the factory spliced Violet wire under the sill plate. I'll give a shot at that kick panel as soon as my tractor is back together.
