You mention 40 psi...my door sticker says 35psi. What is everyone running their tires at? My dealer puts them at 35 and I keep them there.

Thank you for this information! It did a great job of setting things straight in my head. I think I need to find a reputable shop to check these things for me. If only I knew of one close to me so I could get a second opinion from my normal shop.

If any of those were the case would it cause wear on both the inside and outside? Honest question because in my mind it seems it would only do one or the other but I’m not expert and I’m looking to be educated.
Thank you!

Did my best at a picture since it’s dark right now.
1. Rotated every oil change.
2. 275/65/18 tire size
3. Alignment 2 weeks after I got it (supposedly, that shop was garbage) and again after the rack was replaced. The second alignment was done by the shop I trust.

Hoping the community can help me here:
2017 Ford Expedition, 51k, 275/65/18
I’ll try and make a long story short. Purchased the car 8/2018 with 29k miles. Tires looked pretty close to new. I was surprised.
December 2018, new steering rack installed by dealer. Car pulled to the right and...
Correct. But this was the middle of summer 75-80 degrees and it was a huge cloud of smoke multiple times. Hasn’t happened since. I live in IL and turbo was replaced in January (smoke first noticed the prior August) so I’ve seen the full range of weather since.

What you describe sounds like something I get also. I always thought it might be the torque converter locking and unlocking but my thinking could be flawed there. I really don’t know much about transmissions.
To provide an update on my issues, the flare is just as bad or worse since the tcm...
I have a similar situation. Would love to know an answer on this. I’m scheduled to drop off at the dealer Wednesday evening.

Thanks for the info. I’m going to call the dealer today.
Does anyone know if running with a bad valve body damages the internals of the transmission? I want this fixed ASAP but I’ve been driving for a short period like this and I’m concerned it’s set me up for major failure later.

I get that in theory aluminum doesn’t rust, but Ford has already proven they can mess that one up. It’s also no excuse for a design that catches dirt, water, salt, etc.

That sucks! These are expensive vehicles and it really pisses me off that Ford allowed simple things like this to go. It will ultimately rust out and the value of the vehicle will diminish. My 2017 already has rust in a few spots. Two of them appear to be from damage but both the second row...
Year: 2017
Gears: How do I find this?
Non EL, regular length
Mileage: 44,600 or so
Drivetrain: 4X4
U-Joints - should I just grab the driveshaft and pull? It's been about 10 years since I've had a vehicle with bad U-joints and I don't remember what the symptom was. I think we were replacing the...
Glad you got everything fixed! It's crazy the dealer is trying to charge for an entire dash removal. I took mine out at one point as well and while it's a tight fit and you need to get just the right combination of ratchet extensions in there, it's totally doable.
Could you all take a look at the video below and let me know if this qualifies as shift flare during the 1-2 shift? Overall it's smooth and there's no jerking when it goes into gear, but the vehicle hasn't always behaved this way. A little more background info is below:
We recently took a...
I have a 2017 Expedition.
I discovered yesterday that the rear hvac case is blowing both hot and cold air out at the same time when the AC is set to anything but the last two or three coldest settings. In other words if the dial is set all the way to cold all is well, but if you back it off a...
Sorry for the third post...I forgot to mention that my “drain” causes a potion of the water to run behind the foam insulation that’s against the firewall and running underneath the floor board. It finds an escape about half way to the back and drops down onto an exhaust heat shield, then onto a...
I would appreciate this info as well. I see where mine is draining through the firewall but it looks like a terrible design. I’ll see if I can get a pic

I have the same problem. I’ve ignored it because like you, there are no codes and it otherwise drives just fine.
I do think I have some shift flare going on but I see that as unrelated since it started in the last two weeks and what you’re talking about started months ago.
