My understanding is that should not be happening. If your IWE system is functioning properly…with the engine on…vacuum being delivered…your IWEs should be unlocked and the shafts shouldn’t be spinning.
Noticed some humming coming from the front end. Checked the wheel bearings and the usual culprits which were all normal. This lead me to check out the IWE system.
I checked both front IWEs with my suction pump and both hold pressure and disengage appropriately. So those seem good.

Ive noticed an annoying rattle coming from the passenger side roof area. My best guess is that it is coming from the roof rack runners. Ive had to take my crossbars off in order to fit in certain parking garages. Maybe removing the crossbars is now causing the runners to rattle somehow? Is...
I had my computer flashed yesterday. 2018 with 50k miles on it. I still get the rattle on start up. My dealer said they will now replace the cam phasers under the field service report. Question though....is the rattle coming from the actual cam phasers or the timing chain? Certainly sounds...
I have my trucks undercarriage sprayed with fluid Film every year. And have them hit up the running board hinges. Going on 3 years and no issues at all.
Finished my install yesterday. The rear caliper brackets don’t need removed to replace the rotors which was nice.
These ceramic pads don’t feel as grippy as the OEM pads. But I haven’t worn them in yet. Time will tell. Overall an easy install. Just remember to put the truck in Brake...
What about rear ended squat? I’m having my shocks done soon. Going with factory ride height. But I’m curious if these Bilsteins will change the hitch drop I need when towing. My boat is 8500#s
I’m doing front and rear rotors and pads on Friday on my 2017. Rear pads are toast at 47k. Fronts about 50% but got scoring on the inner rotor walls. I went with Advanced Auto Platinum rotors and ceramic pads.
21N08 says if you have the 21B10 reprogram...and you develop engine shudder or transmission shifting issues Ford will revert the PCM reprogram back to "original settings" at no charge to the customer. Only then will my ford dealer replace the cam phasers.
gotcha. These Bilstein shocks arent compatible with CCD. Just making sure that my vehicle doesnt have it. And now I have a better understanding of what my drive modes do.
FWIW I was at my dealer today regarding 21-2119 TSB. Asking to my have my cam phasers replaced. I was told that a new update was released yesterday Sept 13, 2021 regarding the cam phasers. Ford is now reverting back to having the PCM reprogrammed. If any transmission issues arise after the...
Im a little confused regarding these two systems on my 2018 Expy Max Limited. I have the 301A trim package. Im in the process of replacing all the garbage factory struts at 47k. I was about to order some Bilstein 5100s when I noticed those shocks dont work on vehicles equipped with CCD. I...
love mine. Heres mine with just the rears on. took it for a spin to make sure they didn't add any noise to the ride before I put the fronts on. I love then. They really add to the truck.
Schaeffers Supreme 9000 Full Synthetic has by far been the best oil I've used in our cars. My wifes 2012 Explorer, two chevy tahoes, an F150, a Ram 1500. And now in our 2018 Expy. Nothing else even comes close.
Ive used the Royal Purple and K & N filters, experimenting between the two. My...
Can somebody recommend a hood shield for a 2018? I can't seem to find some that uses factory holes for installation. And I don't want a skin sticking to the paint.
Is it safe for the factory frame coating? FF, Krown, etc all can have a detrimental impact on certain factory frame coatings. Essentially dissolving it. I know this pertains to GM frame coatings, but im unsure about Fords. Does anybody know if its safe to spray either FF or Krown onto the...
Is Fluid Film safe for the factory coating on the 2018 Expy frames? My 2018 has 1500miles on it, and Im wanting to get Krown or FF on it. But I don't want either to eat off the factory frame coating.
