OK, I just did my 2003 Expedition, and the kit came with 2 extra lines to cover brake cylinder to abs for years 2005-2006. There is no flex portion, but if you think this will work, I can send them to you at no cost. I was going to throw them in my spare parts bin, but rather see them put to use.
Progress update. I have all the brake lines installed. InLine Tubing sent me a tube for the missing line. Inline Tech support was helpful, and the line was shipped to me for free. Unusual these days to find a company that will help. Not really their fault, my 2003 is in the transition from Gen 1...
I am with Hamfisted on this on. The coolant lines to the heater core and connecting lines to rear heater are over three and four.
One really obscure possibility is the windshield washer lines. They run under the cowling and T off to the PAX spray nozzle then to driver's side.
Here is the pressure sensor. Above the cross member where it meets the driver side frame rail. Spliced into the vent hose that goes back to the filler tube.
You are going to have to drop the tank. Consider the hose to the filler tube and vent. They are cheap and can lead to the slow leak code. Also, in front, there are two hoses. One is for the EVAP system and the other is the fuel line from the fuel filter to the fuel rail. The EVAP line is the...
Maybe someday I will find the com problem. My 2003, build in Sep 2002, is really a mess with the transition from Gen 1 to Gen 2. Three different com busses. The EATC which can mess with 4WD and a brake line configuration that does match because AdvancTrac was added. AdvancTrac has been a...
I have the shop manuals and did the point to point checks a couple of times. Gave up, took it to the dealer, they could not find a connector or ground problem either. Suggested replacing the module. Obviously, that didn't work. The module works and sends messages, I can reset the advance track...
I also do not know if you can turn the motor with a screw driver. It is a step motor that runs the transfer case to the correct gearing. You can remove the motor from the transfer case and see if it turns with the switch. At least that will isolate to a motor problem or an indication problem.
I have done a little searching through the forum and found another inline tube installation and think I have found my problem with the line. The line I have appears to attach to a junction block. Pictures courtesy of Lee_H and BrandonK4204 show the block and line layout of the cross over...
I am not sure about 2005, but in my 2003 I had the exact same problem. It turned out to be the controls for air conditioning and heater. The circuit board went bad and messed up the buss. Found out that since 4x4 was an option and so was the upgraded front/rear heating and cooling, they were on...
Here is the progress. I did attempt to change out the ABS module with no good results. I put the scanner on the new module and still no communication. I guess I will just drive around with the skid marks until I get rid of the vehicle. I have started installing an inline tube kit and it is going...
I don't know the price today, but in 2019 I bought the support for $275. Took off everything on the front end, drilled out the spot welds, replaced the mounting hardware, and gave everything a good coat of paint. The only other cost is service the A/C because you need to disconnect the...
I recognize this kind of corrosion. It is the mount that holds the radiator support. I had the same problem and replaced the support. This was mine before I replaced it.
I think this is the key. As for EV's the individual consumers stars must align. The big hurdle is city parking. It is great if you can charge at home, the use of EV charges in parking garages and assigned parking is expensive and limited, and for those stuck parking on city streets or public...
Cylinder 1 is notorious for being a indicator of a bad head gasket. Next time the engine is cold, pull the plug and see if there is coolant on it. When the engine cools, if the gasket is starting to leak, it lets coolant in until and causes a misfire. Are you losing coolant? That would be...
It's been some time since my last Expedition Project, but I am at it again. Was hauling a trailer with framing lumber and got a Low Brake Fluid light. Got the wood and trailer home, only to find my gas tank soaked in brake fluid. Looks like it's time to do the rear brake lines. Dropped the fuel...
I think you are referring to the PCM (Power Control Module) since that is really the only thing that drives Gen 2. If you are getting misfires, make sure you change plugs and coils. If a bad coil killed the PCM, the new one will also fail shortly after install.
It is an expense, but the new PCM...
I am thinking belts as well, or maybe the tensioner. Far fetched idea, but older cars you find a lot more hard to diagnose problems. May want to check the harmonic balancer. The rubber may have deteriorated a bit, it will slip like the serpentine belt before it fails.
Sounds exactly like what I experience with a bad head gasket. If this occurs on first startup, what I found was that the coolant would leak into the cylinder when the engine cooled down overnight. This set an air bubble in the hoses that lead to the heater core which prevents flow. The are above...
I agree, I have been running with the track light for two years, it should not be causing a problem. It should be out of the circuit when it throws a fault code. The stability control also only activates intermittently. If the caliper is locked while driving straight, look elsewhere. Did you...
