    Well, the dealer has had my truck for 2 days. They are saying it is not acting up for them and it threw no codes. The battery tested ok. They have not tested the starter yet. Hopefully I will get it back tomorrow. We shall see. Not impressed at present.

    I figured out years ago that factory engineers have a clue. Your ride may not be a race car or a mud buggy, but it is a competent vehicle. It may be boring, but it works.

    2022 XLT vs 2021 XLT

    If you are not going to tow or pull it behind a motorhome and 4 low is not a worry, the 22 is newer, but has more miles. It really depends on how you are going to use it.

    Moving From 20" to 18" Tires

    It’s all about keeping mama comfortable. Last year, we took a 30 mile washboard road to go from a camp site to dinner. Mama hated that ride and we took a 85 mile return trip on asphalt roads. That was on 20” tires at road pressure. I suspect on 18” tires aired down, she would have been ok.

    This is the type of trails i am thinking of. Seems like 18” tires aired down would fare better and be more comfortable than 20” tires at road pressures. I plan to remove the lower air dam under the front bumper.

    Thanks for the input. I have round 2 of the cam phaser issue and cannot see paying $5K every 45K miles or so to keep this truck on the road. I am moving on to a RAM Bighorn.

    I have a 2019 Expedition Max 4x4 with 20" wheels. I want to move to 18" wheels to do some light off roading. If I get 18" 9" wide wheels with a 44 offset, will a KO3 in LT275/70-18 (33.2x10.8 R18) fit without rubbing assuming I do not do any changes to shocks, control arms or other lifting...

    OEM wheel clearcoat peeling - anyone else?

    2019 Max 4x4 here. All 4 20" wheels are peeling. Fixing to move to 18" wheels, so that should clean up the issue. There is a shop here (Cincinnati) that specialized in restoring/refinishing wheels. If I were going to keep the 20" wheels on, I would probably get them refinished.

    The audio controls engineer should be forced to chauffeur my grandson around for say a week. This should be a menu option to disarm those rear controls. Who would have ever thought folks would carry kids in the second row??? Stupid design decision. Can they fix with a firmware update?

    I just picked up my truck after letting it sit at the dealer overnight. They did the reprogram, but it still rattles on start up. They said to give it 1,000 miles. I will keep a use log for those miles. Call me underwhelmed.
