    2016 XLT - No Transmission cooler before road trip in 100* heat

    I also have a 2016 XLT though it is an EL with the tow package. Just got rid of our travel trailer, fully loaded it weighed 6000 lbs. When heading out west went over Wolf Creek Pass and the transmission temp never went over 212 degrees. Never gave us a bit of trouble.

    Well, all this is making me feel better about my 2016 EL HD tow with the 3.73 gears. Around town, I get between 16 - 17mpg and hwy driving will get 19 - 20mpg keeping speed between 65-70mph.

    I had to replace the clutch disks in the rear end of my 2016. I bought it with 62,000 miles and did the replacement at 82,000 when I noticed the same growl as you heard. I bought it as a CPO so my work was also covered under the extended powertrain warranty.

    I had the same issue and my dealer replaced the clutch pack in the rear diff. My vehicle is a 2016 EL and was making similar noises. My vehicle was bought as a CPO and this was covered by the 100,000 mile powertrain warranty.

    What did you do to the expy today

    List of what I have done over the last week: put on new rotors and pads front and rear then bled the brake lines, washed and waxed from top to bottom. Getting oil change done tomorrow and hopefully will be done for awhile.

    Grdsman, My rotors also had Front drivers side on both rotors but based on how the slots ran it ended up just being mismarked. I just put mine on today. I verified by checking online that they were good to go.

    I tow a travel trailer that fully loaded weighs just over 6000# and I wouldn't personally be comfortable towing it without a WDH. Sorry, I am unable to answer your other questions.

    Thanks all for the replies. I have been offline for a bit. Halogens have been good but in reading on the newer bulbs they are burning out faster because of DRL. So then the debate is whether the cost of replacing halogens is worth it. I think I will try the halogens and if they burn out too...
