I put the powerstop ceramic pads and slotted rotors on my 2016 Expy XLT EL soon after I got it as we had a travel trailer to tow. I had no issues with stopping at any time whether towing or not. As I have done pads and rotors on other vehicles I have owned the job was not difficult for me. One...
I also have a 2016 XLT though it is an EL with the tow package. Just got rid of our travel trailer, fully loaded it weighed 6000 lbs. When heading out west went over Wolf Creek Pass and the transmission temp never went over 212 degrees. Never gave us a bit of trouble.
Well, all this is making me feel better about my 2016 EL HD tow with the 3.73 gears. Around town, I get between 16 - 17mpg and hwy driving will get 19 - 20mpg keeping speed between 65-70mph.
I had to replace the clutch disks in the rear end of my 2016. I bought it with 62,000 miles and did the replacement at 82,000 when I noticed the same growl as you heard. I bought it as a CPO so my work was also covered under the extended powertrain warranty.
I had the same issue and my dealer replaced the clutch pack in the rear diff. My vehicle is a 2016 EL and was making similar noises. My vehicle was bought as a CPO and this was covered by the 100,000 mile powertrain warranty.
I have a 2016 EL and last October drove our 25' Rockwood Mini lite out to Colorado from Indiana staying between 60 and 65 mph and averaged close to 10 mpg for the whole trip. On mostly level highways I would average around 12 mpg but once in the mountains all bets are off and the mpg drops like...
I don't have the non-nav version but I did do the upgrade to version 3.4 to my 2016 XLT EL and the process went smoothly. There are a couple of threads on this which are what I used for information. Cyanlabs site is very self-explanatory when it comes to doing the actual upgrade.
I bought a Spectre CAI for a Hemi powered Ram 1500 and never even got a hint of better torque, HP or gas mileage. When I got my Expy I sprung for the K&N replacement filter as I have used them before but will not spend close to 300.00 for the K&N CAI. I pull a travel trailer out west a couple of...
I had the issue without the camera is unavailable message and mine went away on its own. It will probably return then I will need to look at the wires and connectors as some others on this forum have reported that is what they had to do or replace the camera. If you do replace the camera I...
My Dad used to drive the Lincoln Town cars and he loved them. Every time they would pass a gas station the steering wheel would automatically turn to pull in at least that was what he told me. As a kid, I could have lived in the trunk.
Drove out to Colorado and back from Southern Indiana went through Wolf Creek Pass with weather temps in the '60s and saw a high of 210 on transmission temps towing a 5600# camper. After hearing others talk of seeing much higher temps I was pretty pleased.
I had the same issue and the dealer replaced the antenna on the roof, it was bought as a CPO and was covered under warranty. I believe there is a TSB on this issue.
I have a 2016 Expy EL with a 33.5-gallon tank and for just around town I get about 450 to 475 depending on my right foot. When I bought it I looked at the 4th Gen but wanted the extra fuel since we tow a camper out west to Colorado to visit family. It came in handy a couple of times when I...
My Expy is a 2016 XLT EL with the HD tow package and as far as I am aware it would have the stock rear sway bar. I bought it used as a Certified pre-owned and I don't see that anything has been changed prior to my purchase. I found my best fix for the wind was to cut my speed a bit and stay in...
Just got back from a trip to Southwest Colorado from Southern Indiana and thought I would share the experience. The trip out was mostly uneventful other than crosswinds in Kansas which were expected but damn what a pain. Went over Wolf Creek pass both heading out and coming back and I was...
Just got back from Colorado towing our travel trailer and everything went fine until a coil pack went bad on I-70 near Fulton Mo. Got towed to the Ford dealer there including the trailer and we camped for three days cause they also found my water pump was leaking and I told them to get it...
Completed the upgrade yesterday afternoon and it went super smooth. Looking forward to our next trip and using the new map files. Thanks for all of the help Chuck S and Loki.
2016 Expedition I am on 3.0 build 19205, do I need to downgrade to build 19200 before doing the most recent upgrade version of 3.4? Many thanks in advance for any assistance.
List of what I have done over the last week: put on new rotors and pads front and rear then bled the brake lines, washed and waxed from top to bottom. Getting oil change done tomorrow and hopefully will be done for awhile.
Grdsman, My rotors also had Front drivers side on both rotors but based on how the slots ran it ended up just being mismarked. I just put mine on today. I verified by checking online that they were good to go.
I tow a travel trailer that fully loaded weighs just over 6000# and I wouldn't personally be comfortable towing it without a WDH. Sorry, I am unable to answer your other questions.
Thanks all for the replies. I have been offline for a bit. Halogens have been good but in reading on the newer bulbs they are burning out faster because of DRL. So then the debate is whether the cost of replacing halogens is worth it. I think I will try the halogens and if they burn out too...
