This website mentions APIM firmware and possibly BCM firmware updates using Forscan. I know it doesn’t directly answer your question, but it could lead to other ideas or resources.

I wouldn’t say that they are a better ride than properly working stock shocks. I think they are about the same. They are a lot better ride than the failed stock shocks and they don’t fail quickly. My stock front shocks failed in less than 5000 miles.
For the harsh ride, have the shocks ever been replaced? The non-CCD shocks are known for leaking early. If it was me, I would replace them with Bilstein’s.
Rear brake pads on these are known to wear quickly. They have a lot less material than the aftermarket pads. The rotors are probably junk from the metal to metal contact of being worn to the backing plate.
To eliminate the cylinder head temperature sensor as a possibility, look at the transmission temperature while hot. If it is within 10°F of the engine temperature, the the cylinder head temperature sensor is fine.
What year and trim level? I thought somebody mentioned that theirs automatically adjust the cruise speed based on speed limit signs. Maybe it is mis-reading signs. My wife’s Honda mis-reads the speed limit frequently, but it doesn’t adjust speed.
It serves to wake up all 5 kids and the wife when you stop in the middle of the night at a gas station for a quick stop to use the restroom. It goes from a 5 minute stop to a 1.5 hour stop.
I wonder if installing the ford cargo mat that covers the back of the 3rd row would be sufficient solution. It would also help prevent this damage in the first place.
16.25 inches. What car seat do you have? A diono radian rxt works without interference. A Britax boulevard click-tight will fit as well, but you have to push the shoulder wing out of the way to allow the outer seat to return to the upright position.
According to the 2019 order guide, all expeditions have the one touch up and down feature for the first row.
Did you enable it in the BCM, PDM, and DDM?
At least one person has successfully installed a transmission cooler. That would take care of any additional cooling that you may need.

He has sync 3.4 versus you have sync 3.0. I don’t think 3.4 was avalaible from the factory until the 2020 MY. You may be able to upgrade your 3.0 to 3.4. See the thread linked below. https://www.expeditionforum.com/threads/update-all-versions-of-ford-sync-3-to-the-latest-sync-3-4.42507/
Post 66 in this thread shares my experience along with others that the rubber band fix wasn’t permanent for them or myself. It only takes one person to push a big Yetti cup in hard to pop the bottom loose again.
For reference posts 40, 47, 60, and 70 show more robust solutions.
