Agreed. We had the cam phaser issue too about 5K miles ago. Luckily, it was still under warranty. Just figure how many people get stuck with these two major repairs after the warranty is expired.
The dealer ended up offering to cover 60%, so it's going to cost $4400. At least it's not $10K, but still not happy about putting that much money into an SUV with 60K miles. Might be a good reason to not get a Ford next time around. Though many MFG's haven't been reliable within the last 5+ years.
Dropped it off at the dealer Wednesday. They called today and said it does need a new trans. Since the warranty just barely expired (I think 61K), they are trying to get it approved for warranty work. I assume they will tell us to pound sand. Probably look around for an independent trans shop.
Subscribing. About to take my wife's 2019 in for trans issues. Started a new thread: https://www.expeditionforum.com/threads/transmission-issue-2019.58254/
Wife's 2019 Limited - She had issues with the transmission today on 1 hour round trip drive. She was heading home on the freeway and it was seemingly stuck in Neutral and wouldn't move right away. She braked and started to pull off and then it corrected itself. Appointment to take it in to the...
Ended up buying her Cooper Discoverer HTP II. Never had these before, but they were priced decent at the time. I had Coooper Discoverer STT Pro on my Jeep and those were wearing well and ride smoothly.
My wife still hasn't bought tires lol. I was looking at the Black Friday specials and saw these at Walmart. Seem really good for the price, $155 each. 60K warranty.
Anyone try these? I read that Walmart has exclusive rights to some of the Cooper models. They didn't have what I want for my Ram...
Well she did kill one of her tires in her previous car by mis-judging where a curb was while going into a parking lot. So rim protection sounds like a good idea.
Looking for tire recommendations for my wife's 2019 Expedition. It has the OEM 285/45/22 which have lasted about 55K miles so far. No real complaints. Street driving in CA, some rain but never snow. Figure if I don't stop her, my wife would go to the tire shop and by the cheapest China special...
That's for the turbos? How much is it to fix usually?
My wife thinks there's a 60K, 5 year warranty on the engine and transmission. So not sure if this would be covered? We bought it new 3 years ago (it was sitting on the lot for a while).
My wife's 2019 has started making a noise on cold starts. I will attach the video I made this morning. Please advise if you know what might cause this. It is close to 50K miles.

I also prefer the middle row captain's chairs to give passengers more privacy and less 'HE/SHE KEEPS TOUCHING/LOOKING AT ME'. lol
Also plenty of charging cables, extra headphones, some blankets. We keep a small stash of bottled water in it to avoid paying for water on the road.
I have the regular and have 3 kids: 8, 10, 13. We also have 3 dogs. The regular length is perfect for us. We got one with the middle row captains chairs. If we have all 3 kids with us, one sits in the 3rd row. We wanted to be able to keep them as separate as possible. Plus everyone likes the arm...
I have a 2019 Limited and was very impressed by the 3.5 Ecoboost. My trade in was a 2018 F150 with the 2.7 Eco. I had a 2011 F150 5.0 before that.
I was skeptical about the 2.7 until I test drove it. Plenty of juice for what I need. So I was excited to move up to the 3.5 in the Exp, definitely...
I would worry less about the tires and more about scratching up your wheels and paint from small rock chips.
Agree that you can't air those low profile tires much. Maybe drop 3-5 psi and stick with the fire roads. Definitely better off in your Jeep.
Finally closed the deal on the 2019 Limited. Max tow, leather seats, lots of electronics, etc. Ended up getting $8700 less than sticker. Kind of disgusted that the original salesman gets a piece of the commission. The first guy was kind of an ass and didn't want to deal, didn't follow up, etc. I...
So looked at a new black XLT for around $60K, mostly just to see the middle bench seat. The '19 had the dual captain's chairs. Dealer said the black one is the only new one they have.
Also saw a couple used ones just to see some of the options. Haven't seen any that have the max tow pkg.
It is...
