If no dye is found anywhere on the exterior surfaces of the hoses and block then yes, I’ll be changing the cap out for a new one. The cap theory has crossed my mind but I’ve also seen signs (very small colorful plume on wet pavement when left idling) that the water pump may be weeping as well...
I’m dealing with a similar issue, no visible signs of leaks and it’s been like this since the vehicle was new… at dealership now having torque converter replaced and they have added dye to try and identify where it might be leaking. My guess is it’s weeping from the water pump.
You got cheap Amazon junk. Take a look at https://www.bulbfacts.com/. You can search by bulb type and whether you’re installing the bulb into a projector housing or reflector housing. Site has a plethora of information to go through and is well worth the read.
Stumbled upon it a few years ago while doing research on if LEDs were safe to use in projector housings. While not technically legal to use in any housing, there are LEDs that mimic the pattern of halogens very well and this site really took the time to test out hundreds of lights to gather data...
I can’t speak to all manufacturers as to longevity. I myself am running a set of Philips Ultinon 7000 LEDs (imported from the UK). They are no longer in production. They were certified in several European countries to be a like for like replacement for halogens. It seams Philips has stopped...
Check out https://www.bulbfacts.com/ for information on better quality halogen and LED bulbs in different housings (reflector or projector). Link helped me make decisions on what I wanted to install.
There are no aftermarket lighting options for the 4th generation expeditions equipped with the factory LED housings. If you’re having trouble seeing at night, I’d recommend checking the headlights are properly adjusted. Also going to a less aggressive tint would help.
OP needs to take a closer look at his shocks. According to the 2022 order guide, the 22s on the limited he has can only come with CCD. Look at page 21 of the guide.

Answer is really simple... most people don't leave live moving animals in their vehicles and then lock it. It also ensures that the added layer of theft prevention is always on, unless commanded to be off. Ford was smart enough to make sure it prompts us as soon as we turn off the vehicle. I'd...
So a higher speed rated tire doesn't mean its a harder compound, they typically tend to be a little softer for more grip. A harder compound also wouldn't mean it would automatically ride rougher, sidewall stiffness is what causes a harsher ride. The load range index on a tire will typically...
The stop/start cycles will not drain a battery. The expedition will disable stop/start function if the voltage drops below a certain point so that it will stay running and charge the battery. One of the signs of a battery starting to go south would be that the vehicle will NOT activate auto...
LED strip is failing, this is a non repairable part. You’ll need to purchase an entire headlight housing to fix the issue. Look at salvage yards if you want to save a buck as new units cost over $1,000 to replace from a dealer…
While I don’t have a 22’+ model (only an 18-21 model), others here have complained of the same unwanted deployments. You can search the 4th gen page for several threads on the issue.
Long story short, there is no fix from ford yet. Apparently the F150s don’t have this issue but the expedition...
CDF drum failure seems to start with the symptoms of shuddering in gears 3-4-5-6 which all are housed in the CDF drum section of the trans. The shudders are usually noticeable under part throttle moderate load at low speed scenarios, think driving up a twisty mountain road at low speeds... The...
Kingdom Overlanding has a YouTube channel and website dedicated to his build. I believe he walks through the process of getting the raptor style (its not oem) bumper mounted on the expedition.
Shouldn't need to have it running, only need to have it in full accessory mode. It sounds like you were able to get it sorted though and the changes working?
Checking weekly should be fine. When I had one on my previous vehicle I’d check it every time I stopped to fill up. The warm crank case vapors will quickly melt anything that may freeze in the can, I wouldn’t worry too much about use in cold climates.
I don’t have one installed on my current...
Cold weather will create a ton of condensation. The can will fill up with a water/oil mix that will be predominantly water (looks like chocolate milk), and will require frequent dumping. Most people won’t religiously monitor the can and this may lead to the mixture being ingested through the...
