Thank you for your reply. Ive been on the fence for quite awhile. Today I ordered front and rear Hellwigs for my Timberline. I agree I will lose some extreme off roading ability, but we tow about 7000 lbs. Any off roading we do is mild trails or slippery roads. We may get to some sand some...
Yep, I used to race my Mercury Marauder there. Ran 11.98 in 1/4 mile in cold air, low 12's all day. Look up "Defyant Maruader". There are posts and videos out there if your interested. Sadly I mainly posted on Streetfire.net when that was a thing. Its gone and my content with it. Fun car...
Thanks for your responses.
I run 60 lbs rear, 50 lbs front cold when towing. 40-44 lbs cold for everyday use. The trailer is just under 26 feet long. We have the 14K Equalizer WD hitch. The dealer set it up. I have weighed it with and without the bars and saw a difference. I forget what...
Greetings Everyone,
We have a 2022 Timberline w/ tow package. We towed our 2022 Rockwood Mini lite 2513S with the stock Timberline when we received it. It tows good but felt "Mushy".
I added Sumo Springs (these:
Coil SumoSprings Custom Helper Springs for Coil Spring Suspension - Rear Axle...
I want a second tank for increased range also. Bad thing is, i suspect the rear spare is an integral part of the rear impact collision system. A larger tank situated where the OEM tank is would be a better option.
I like the look of the folding steps. There are many threads and posts of problems eventually. I plan to go to dirty locations off road - including the beach. Nope, not dealing with stuck steps
I believe these audio systems are detuned to prevent speaker damage. Forscan supposedly can fix this (per research on Sync 3). I am very interested in this upgrade. Subscribing.
I believe we have the "Active X" seats. Not the Platnum or King Ranch grade leather seats. I will say, when wife and I got in the Timberline coming from the '21 XLT with leather, these seat were amazing. We've made several road trips with no issues.
I did this in my 04 Marauder. Huge difference. Ive read the OEM system is detuned to reduce power so speakers wont break. B&O isnt all that. Perhaps a speaker upgrade and Forscan to unleash the power is in order....
Any updates? I feel the same way about our new 2022 Timberline. Love the truck, not the swampy feel when towing. Heavier tires and sway bars are on the short list.
This is precisely what I am trying to accomplish. Not increase tow ability. Just add to the trucks stability while within the proper load and tow ranges. Increased off road performance would be nice also. I will accept a change in ride comfort.
Tech can read minds! I wonder things also only to find when I get to the google machine and type a couple of letters, the damn thing completes the text of my intended search!
I see. So an upgrade to the tire capacity wont help the stability of the rig? Maybe a tad bit wider, thicker sidewalls, but no increase in height or GVW that's currently within the limits. Not looking to increase towing capacity as outlined on the door jamb sticker. But perhaps in an...
51psi is maximum psi. Beyond that you risk a blow out. When tires roll down the road, they heat up increasing pressure. 35 psi is done to make the truck ride soft and smooth - very important when taking a test drive. When towing, I run mine at 43 psi cold. When headed towing 7K trailer...
I am looking for Fords instructions to dealers on where to mount the front plate. I believe mine was mounted improperly. Vehicle is a 2022 Expedition. A PDF from Ford would be helpful. Any help is appreciated thanks.
You are correct. Also its too high up. Its supposed to be lower in the silver area. I have an email in to the dealer to see if they will make it right. They've been fair to this point. I expect they will come through.
