Turns out you’re right about the secondary pump.
It’s mounted on the front of the passenger side cylinder head. Never realized it was a pump, just looked like a control valve for coolant flow to the front and rear heater cores. Turns out that it does have a small electric pump inside though...
Apologies if I missed this; also kind of resurrecting an old thread but it seems like the right place to ask…
I’ve recently become aware that on my 2015, the engine coolant temp (ECT) gauge is kind of a dummy gauge, and will show in the middle from like 190-235ish.
Meaning it won’t start to...
Only two things that come to mind:
A faulty sensor (which has been stated);
Or if your new thermostat isn’t functioning properly such as sticking open (which you mentioned). It’s not common but thermostats can fluctuate between not closing when they should as well as not opening when they...
If it’s just for your phone and not other devices, I’ve been using proclip’s mount system on the expedition plus some other cars and couldn’t be happier, super sturdy and with the MagSafe/magnetic mount it’s very convenient. No cutting, drilling or holes required.

I don’t honestly know if these are the same for the 2012 as they are for later years; I have a 2015 and bought a set of the 5100’s with the part numbers below:
Front: 24-285056
Rear: 24-285063
The website I found them on “Jack-it Suspension“ lists them as being for 2014-2021. When I search...
Do you remember which vehicle you purchased it for that was compatible with the expedition. Looks like the 4Runner or Land Rover Defender might be close to fitting.
Did you remove the factory bars and use eezi-awn’s tracks?
I’m currently using Cooper discoverer AT3 XLT in 275/60/20 with factory wheels and ride height on my ‘15. No rubbing at all. They are E Load range, ride very well. Completely silent at highway speeds despite the tread design.
I’m not sure if these are the largest you can go, but should open...
I’m having the exact same issue on my ‘15. It has automatic, dual zone climate control. Haven’t changed anything yet but I’ve checked the relay switch and harness so far, no melting or damage on the connector or any of the pins, and nothing changes when i wiggle the harness.
There was an old...
I’m not sure if it’s the same for your ‘08 as it was for my ‘15. But I used TCPA02 from Standard Motor Products. It’s called a “Conductor Plate” on RockAuto, only $15 bucks.
The bummer is you’re going to lose half your transmission fluid since you have to pull the pan to change it. I did it...
No, it even has stamped on it “do not remove for oil change”. There are two rubber hole plugs that you rotate 45 degrees and they come out for access.
That said, I strongly believe that it is way less messy if you drop the skid plate and splash guards.
I just got my ‘15 and when I dropped the...
99WhiteC5Coupe,
Thank you for that, I tried the reset procedure and it didn’t work unfortunately, It seems like the hit caused the hinge to become misaligned. I’ll likely need to take it apart when I have some time and see if I can line it all back up.
For that recommended pigtail replacement...
Thank you for the welcome,
I‘m sorry to hear about your transmission, mine seems to be performing really well; did a thorough test drive then the towing trip home. I don’t believe the manual calls for any transmission maintenance till 150k? I’ll definitely knock that out when it calls for it...
Hello all,
Just purchased a 2015 Expedition EL Limited 4WD because I needed to upgrade the family hauler.
It has just over 100k miles, some issues, but overall in good shape and it is what we could afford.
Had to travel a bit to get it, then immediately put it to work towing the previous...
