Anyone know how bad it would be to remove diff cover? looks like a PITA..... nothing like doing an earlier F150 or expy. thanks in advance

It's bad. The rear cover actually is part of the pumpkin support structure. You have to drop the rear axle out to do anything other than change the fluid. Are you just seeing gear lube along the bottom or is it actually dripping in the driveway ? Mine has had a slight shaft leak for ten years but it's never gotten bad enough to leave drops on the driveway or anything. I just check the fluid level every time I change the oil and it's always pretty close to full. There was a TSB that came out and said use 75w-140 weight LSD gear lube in it instead of the original 75w-90 fluid. So that's what I did on the initial fluid change schedule.
