Why Ford illuminated Keyless entry was a horrible decision, loved that feature on several model years. I hope they realize their error and bring it back 2027 Models. In fact Dealership told me have fielded many complaints so hope Dearborn is listening?

Anyway, Ford is offering a keyless remote and Dealership will install and program remote. Most are placing remote over door handle but looks out of place, Dealer placed mine inside gas cap door and works fine plus being hidden.

Here is a snap shot what they look like:

I believe they are talking about the keypad for unlocking doors. I knew they eliminated it in the 2025 F150s, I didnt realize it hit the expeditions too. I really appreciate this feature in both of my Fords.

Our 2025 Expedition Tremor has the illuminated keypad entry on the B pillar. Haven't had to use it yet. Maybe it's like a fire extinguisher. Anybody have any use cases for it?

My impression, Ford has really implemented big cost reductions possibly to offset the new instrument cluster blue cruise on most all trim levels.
My 2018 Limited, has fog lights, running boards deploy only on the side of vehicle where a door is opened, CCD Suspension, has limited slip differential, electronic locking differential and it will park itself. Most of these features are no longer available or only available on Platinum Ultimate or King Ranch trims, and the B pillar door unlock code.

The keyless keypad was illuminated on my 2026 Platinum why Ford is offering a key pad accessory. I enjoyed that feature why I added the key pad and advise others of the accessory through Ford dealership.

I use mine ALL the time.
Going for a run somewhere and don't want to carry the keys? lock them in the car with the keypad
Kid needs to grab something from the car and you don't want to get up? kid knows the keypad code
Walk down to my car to get something but forgot the keys? I can unlock it with the keypad
Want to leave the car running for the dog while you go into the store? Lock the door with the keypad

It is so so great and I totally baffled why all automakers don't do it.

(A lot of the use cases are mitigated with the phone-as-a-key (which I do use and love...I rarely have my key with me anymore) but not all of them)

Yea, Ford eliminated a lot of features for the standard Platinum. It's more like a Limited with a Platinum insignia.
It is missing quite a bit compared to my GEN4 Platinum. Unfortunately, I found out after my purchase. But mine is only missing a couple of features.
In order to get the features that were included on most GEN 4 models, you have to get the Ultimate package. Or you have to special order what you want that takes forever to get.
Here are available Platinum packages.
1. Platinum Ultimate Package
  • Performance: Upgrades to the High-Output 3.5L EcoBoost V6 (440 hp / 510 lb-ft torque) and a high-flow exhaust system.
  • Exterior: Distinctive signature grille lighting and massive 24-inch tarnished dark metallic wheels.
  • Interior: Massaging multi-contour front seats, premium luxury leather, and rear seat radio controls. [1, 2, 3]
2. Stealth Performance Package
  • Performance: Adds the 440-hp High-Output V6 engine for aggressive acceleration.
  • Style: Features 22-inch black-painted wheels, black exterior badging, and a blacked-out aesthetic.
  • Interior: Black leather upholstery and sportier interior accents. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
3. Stealth Appearance Package
  • Style: Provides the same blackout styling as the Performance package (black wheels, badging, trim), but without upgrading to the High-Output engine or making suspension changes.
  • Engine: Keeps the standard 400-hp 3.5L EcoBoost V6. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
4. Driver's Package Key Features of the Package
  • Enhanced Audio: Upgrades the sound system to the premium B&O Unleashed Play System with 22 speakers and a customizable Beosonic sound experience.
  • Wheel Upgrade: Equips the vehicle with 22-inch Ebony Bright Machined-Face Aluminum Wheels paired with P275/50R22 all-season tires.
  • Active Suspension: Adds Continuous Control Damping (CCD) to the suspension for a smoother, highly responsive ride.
  • Hands-Free Driving: Includes Blue Cruise hardware (with a bundled plan) for hands-free highway driving.
