Just replaced head, battery, starter, and IAC. When I crank it now it sounds like the starter stays engaged. Anyone have any suggestions on fixing the problem. To give a run down, I had a time getting it into timing. Then the starter burned out and battery went dead. When i finally got it to crank it was shutting off when idleing. So I replace the IAC.

did you disconnect the battery wires from the solenoid mounted high up on the firewall?

if so are you sure the wires are back the right way......

I know the wrong configuration could make the starter stay engaged after the truck has caught fire.....because it happened to me.
