A/C keeps turning off and on

I have a 2017 Limited. I recently parked it for a couple of months. To keep the battery from draining I unhooked it. Ready to use I hooked the battery back up and it fired back up and drives fine. Only problem now is that the A/C will turn itself off and then turn itself back on at the controls. I can drive it for hours and then all at once it turns off blower and all. It will not let me turn it back on on the touchscreen. Sometimes it will come back on within a few sections and sometimes it will take a few minutes. When it’s on it blows good and cold. I’ve tried to turn the engine off and back on but that does nothing to get it working again. It’s like it has a mind of its own. Seems almost like a loose connection somewhere. Just seems weird that I never had this problem until I unhooked the battery and let it sit for a few months. Any help would be appreciated.

From afar, I’d bet the wiring connector for the blower motor and resistor (speed control) is damaged.

Thanks for your response. I’ll check that out. Unless a vermin chewed on something I don’t see why it was working fine and then unhooking the battery would cause an issue.

Thing is it’s not just the blower motor stopping blowing. The whole thing shuts off on the touch screen. Would the blower motor turning off shut down the climate control?

I’m not sure if the blower motor stopping will shut off the touch screen?

Have you disconnected the wiring harness under the glovebox and examined the connectors? They are prone to charring, which causes the intermittent HVAC fan operation.

Had the same problem with my old 2017 .....there was a recall in 2022 that addressed the problem with the blower motor
I don't remember the specifics, but it solved the problem

Ford reference number for this recall is 22S56
