AMP Research step

Hey guys first post please let me know if this has already been covered.

I am looking into putting an electric amp research folding step on my 2015 expedition El. I emailed the company they said they don't make one which I had already seen from their website, but was hoping they would be interested in getting one done for the public. Has anyone done a custom folding step or modified an amp research step to fit? If any else is interested let me know, I'm sure we could get them to make it if there's people interested. Thanks in advance.

The Lincoln Navigator power boards are mfg under AMP license, according to the AMP website.

Both the Navigator and Expedition have the same part numbers (and even prices) when comparing identical components. I've seen both in person and they appear and appear to operate identically, confirming my belief there is no difference between the Ford and Lincoln versions. With that, I can only assume AMP mentions the Navigator and not Expedition on their website for that sense of luxury?

Only other power board vendor I can recall is Bestop - heavy in the Jeep stuff. But it turns out their power running board part numbers are poorly disguised AMP numbers.

I didn't spend much time looking into the Bestop offering, but recall something about them offering a wi-fi driven opening and closing methodology. This was opposed a dip switch, door handle, dome light, key fob or "body control module" triggered method. I can tell from previous reading that if you wanted to add OEM Ford power steps (albeit AMP) to you Expedition, there is dealer programming required. Its all CANBUS. So maybe this wi-fi gizmo Bestop markets for the Wrangler might be an alternative.

I talked to AMP and they said they do not offer any power steps for the Expedition or Navigator. I have a 2015 Expedition and I have compared the running board mounting holes and they are the same as a F150 Crew cab. I would like to know if anyone has put power steps on a Expedition or Navigator. This is not rocket science so I am sure someone has checked this out.

This is an old thread but I wanted to note that while they still don't list a kit for the Expedition/Navigator on their site, from what I've read it seems AMP manufactures the OEM units for our trucks. Someone on YouTube posted a video where they said you can install factory OEM power running boards and control them using an AMP module from any aftermarket set (such as for the F150). This provides an alternative to trying to wire them up like OEM with the OEM module and programming.
