I have a 2001 Ford Expedition XLT with a 5.4 liter Triton V8 engine.

I don't have any pictures of it yet but I made a video of the exhaust system two years ago. The first part is hearing what it sounds like with the stock exhaust. The second part of the video is what it sounds like with true dual exhaust.

It's got two glasspack mufflers. The Cats was not removed and no mods was done with the engine.

Now it has 105,686 miles. I'm trying to figure out what I have done to the transmission. Yes, with the dual exhaust my driving habbits have changed from time to time. Flooring it on the interstate to hear it down shift every now and then. I like the way how the pipes sound, what can I say.

Now, with the transmission. What I have done one day. I had my windows down and the stereo off. I was doing 25 mph getting ready to stop any ways. I turned the over drive off just to hear the popping sound from the exhaust. Well nothing happend and I noticed that it was shifting late like passed 2,000 rpms and when it would get to the point where the over drive would kick in it would ack like its in neutral. When I put it in reverse it would back up very slow. I checked the oil and it's not burnt it's still red and at the full mark. So I don't know what I have done.

On the other hand I really don't want to bother with it. I just want to pull it out and put a five speed manual transmission in it. I'm guessing maybe look for a totaled gas F-250 XL with that kind of transmission in it. Do they even have a manual transmission that can bolt to a 5.4L?
