Going to replace the Blower Motor Resistor on my 2011 XLT. This is my second time doing this within 1 year. 1st time didn't fix my issue. My questions are. 1,, What orientation should I be putting part in and is it possible to short it out due to static electricity, like computer parts? Took it to Ford and was told the resistor was bad. Perhaps I put it in backwards or shorted it out with the first one I put in last year.
Thanks
Ilya

Did you also replace the connector according to this Ford TSB: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2019/MC-10163573-0001.pdf

If not, here is a video on how to replace it: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=42Ae37Zx90E

I ordered the pigtail and will replace both in the near future, once the pigtail arrives. Thanks for the advice, I had no idea about the TSB. Will update once I get the job done. Still wondering about correct orientation of resistor and any special handling though. Is it safe to assume it's not possible to install the wrong way and not to worry about shorting it out with static while installing?

Well got the job done. Now fan blows low on #1, somewhat higher on both #2,3 - no difference between 2 and 3. High on #4. Sorry for late update, job had to wait until we defrosted here in Montana. Any input is appreciated. I did replace both the pigtail and resistor
