HI All
We had an issue with our 99 Expedition hesitating going into gear on inclines, like it would rev a little and hesitate in slower speeds or on an incline. It wasn't a problem in normal driving.

So we had our fluid checked and it was low, dark and smelled burnt. They promptly changed it, cleaned the filter, pan, new gasket etc.

Car shifted perfectly right after, then in the morning it seems that the problem has returned.
It's our fault for not checking the fluid and we'll stay on that.

It only happens from a standstill to like first to second If I was shifting manually.

We're going to take it to the dealer tomorrow, but any thoughts?

Recently New Spark Plugs, New Oil.
Cleaned the Mass Air Flow Sensor
New Fuel Pump. Starts fine.

Just never dealt with an automatic before. Not sure what it is.

The problem with waiting till your fluids burnt, then changing it, causes more shifting, and drive ability problems, than to just leave it alone. I've seen this happen so many times over the years, that I can't tell you. That being said, short of pulling transmission apart, and rebuilding, not A lot is going to work. Delay with going into low or reverse, is usually either the pump is leaking, and not allowing full pressure to the band/ clutches. Or in some cases a problem in the valve body of transmission. The only product that I've tried, and it's a maybe, is Lucas transmission additive. I never like using any of the so called fix it's, as they usually exacerbates your problem with a engine/ transmission. But in your case if it swells the orings and seals, who knows! Good luck and as always keep us posted. Moose.

That's so rare, finding a good one. If you read so many other posts, honest dealers are like honest politicians. Their out there, but not plentiful. Keep us posted what they find.
