Whats the deal with the intake being over 4 inches at the engine but only about 2.5 inches where it sucks through the fenderwell??? Anyone opened up the factory intake to see if there is an improvement in fuel economy?? I drilled about 6- 1" holes in my 92 explorer airbox before the filter and picked up 1/2 mile to the gallon on average.

Only thing with doing that is your pulling in warm air from the engine bay.
