I finally got a chance to drive my truck in a few inches of snow...7-8 here in Southern MD. I stayed home yesterday to let the State take care of the roads but on the way to work this morning, I took a detour through one of the larger parking lots here by work. It was pretty anticlimactic in that 8" of snow really isn't a test for these trucks but it was still fun watching all 4 tires rooster-tailing!

This is my view out of my office this morning. I'm still like a little kid when it comes to snow. So is my Kerry, a 2nd grade teacher.

We got a good snow over the weekend, 11" total, which is the most we've gotten in many years.. The neighbor and I took the expedition to an empty parking lot and did donuts. Never waste an empty parking lot covered in fresh snow.

We get especially excited here in Southern California. 1 hour drive from home up a mountain and this... pretty amazing by So Cal (Los Angeles) standards...

We got around 13-15 inches this weekend and another 2-3 this morning in WNY. There's a long bridge that goes over a bay. Visibility was around 100ft there. Kind of like driving through a cloud. Very few people made it to the office because the roads are still covered. My Expedition just plowed right through it with 4x4. Temperatures were at 1 degree, so it wasn't a very warm trip. Most of the time I have to turn the heat down after 10 miles. It's so cold, it was cranking the entire 20 mile trip.

Got nearly 2 feet this weekend. The Expy did remarkably well even in 2H with stock tires.

Only really needed 4wd when leaving an intersection from a stop.

I just got a new to me but absolutely rust free Navigator and I'm afraid to drive on the salty roads.
We had an expedition 2000 and the rockers rusted all the way through as they commonly do.
We bought it in 11 or 12 and didn't keep it washed in winter or hardly at all.
I'm being overly worried because I upgrade about every 4-6 years and this Navi looks like a 1 year old vehicle underneath so I'm sure it shouldn't be too bad or noticeable by the time I'm ready to upgrade.
