So - they tried to put everything back together and it seems the tranny coolent lines are all rusted and coroded. So... Another $400 (inclusive of labour). I argued that if they hadn't taken the vehicle apart because of the damn fuel injector issue then these lines wouldn't have been taken apart and as such require replaced. Nope... Won't have anything to do with it. So, new tranny coolant lines. I don't care at this point, but I sure do want my vehicle back - oh, 10 days for parts. Add in a long weekend (holiday) and it appears I won't have my car until September 10th.
Plus side I've saved $300 in gas
$360 in camping costs from the trip we cancelled
Probably another $200 because I've been stuck at home.
About $1,000 saved and a bill of $1,900... Oh, I probably forgot to mention I let them replace the starter motor too as it looked like it was nearing the end of it's life. Another of those "we've got your car in bits, we might as well" things.
This thing better drive like it's off the shelf new!

Sorry to hear that things are being delayed so much. That would drive me crazy being out of a vehicle for that long. Did they atleast offer you a loaner...?

What a headache. Is it just me but to pay top dollar for parts, not on hand and parts that you could reasonably need not in stock. I can see, say, not having a fuel tank on hand but no cooling lines for a stock gearbox?
