I'm copy and pasting this from another forum that i was posting on as i went. I figured this may give someone some inspiration on their stereo build. ENJOY!!

Heres whats going into (or already in) the vehicle

Pioneer AVIC-D3 w/ custom dash kit (due to factory navigation)
Pioneer CD-BTB200 Bluetooth unit.
CD-I200 iPod Cable
PAC SWI-RC steering wheel control module
BOYO VTL300C Reverse Camera plate frame
2 x Phoenix Gold Ti 5x7
1 x Phoenix Gold SD800.5 Amplifier
1 x Phoenix Gold R1.10D
1 x Custom fiberglass enclosure in factory sub location
100 ft^2 Expert Roadkill Sound Deadener

So far I have installed the head unit, door speakers and sound deadened the doors. I will be amping the entire system with a 800.5 5 channel amp as soon as i get my hands back on the prototype.

Here are some pics.

Got the back stripped down and ready to tape off and glass it up..

Well I got a lot accomplished last night with completely stripping the interior out and laying approximately 40 ft^2 of Stinger Expert Roadkill. I also installed approx. 12 ft^2 of Stinger Foam Damping Mat The only pics i have didn't come out real well due to it being a camera phone and the aluminum backing created a ton of reflection. Got the wires ran and figured out the amp mounting location. It is going to go under the center of the second row of seats. The one that slides forward and back.

The 5 Channel amp i will be using....

The RCA's I'm using.... (ssshhhh... Don't tell anyone, these don't get released till next quarter)

And the Wiring...

The enclosure is being built today. Me and a buddy that I work with are knocking it out. Should be done this afternoon. I got a better camera (not my camera phone) and figured ya'll would like to see some better pics.... Here they are.

Welp it came together last night and let me tell you.... For a 10" woofer that is only getting about 320 watts I'm really impressed. We did find one air leak that was fixed and now the truck is back together and sounds amazing.

Here are a few more pics.

Finished, Sealed up, and Held in with mounting brackets.

I then decided to port the enclosure to gain more sound. Turned the tray above it into a port blow hole. and also channeled the sub out the grill cover in the panel. Here are some pics.

Thanks, Been doing this for a while. Yes amping the door speakers makes a huge difference to how loud you can turn it before it starts to distort.

A question from an uneducated audiophile. Does the deadener that was put down have some sort of benefit for sound quality, or has it been put down to reduce things like road noise?

It does all of the above. It essentially stiffens the body or panels so that they do not resonate. This helps for accurate reproductions of sound waves.

I know i had a prototype Phoenix Gold R Series 5 Channel that i was going to use in there since it had more power for the SUB but it wouldn't fit without rubbing when the center seat slid forward. not sure on exact size as far as measurements but i know i would have not problem putting the SD600.1 and the SD500.4 under the seat. I'm actually thinking about doing this soon.

So I am thinking about getting an expedition. Looking at an 06 XLT right now and was thinking about audio. I have a bunch of gear in hand already, and I plan to use that. My question to you is, on your sub, could you have used more space than you did to get the enclosure bigger or were you limited for some reason or another?

Also, what does it look like behind the other panel, passenger side, if you pulled it off? I'm wondering if there's a bunch of stuff back there that needs to be moved or that's in the way or whatever.

Could you possibly give some info on this? I like the install by the way!

That looks so clean. I wish my sub didn't require so much air space. That looks so much nicer than a big 'ol box like I have

I am not good with fiberglass. How much would it cost to get that box made? I can do everything else, but I can't do fiberglass.

I know it's an old post, but I figured I'd answer for posterity. The rear AC components are back there.

From the rear AC thread (the image is mirrored):

Did you try to fit the amp under the front seat? I am eyeing that so I can still use the middle seats folded up
