Yes they are Jim. Solid steel crank, hollow camshafts and bottom end that’s stronger than a four bolt main would be. Oil squirts up into the bottom of the pistons to help cool things. Go to YouTube and search: 3.5 ecoboost torture test.
They pretty much tried to distroy the engine but it was still running in the end of the test.
