I just bought a used 2023 MAX Limited not too long ago. It was a "gold certified" car.
I have a few nagging small issues with it - do I have to take it to the dealer I bought it from or any Ford dealer? Also bought a service guard platinum plan for it does that kick in at same time or after the gold certified warranty?

Read the paperwork that was provided with the vehicle.

It would only be speculation for others to tell you what is covered.

I am battling my Ford Extended Service Plan (Premium Care) for a partial claim rejection.

I took my 2015 Ford Expedition to the Ford dealer where I have it serviced, and bought the plan.

The RF and LR power door lock would not unlock with the fob, door switch or exterior keypad.

The dealer stated they determined both power door lock actuators were defective and had to be replaced. I authorized the repair.

The Ford ESP “computer” allowed payment for the RF actuator, and rejected payment for the LR actuator - stating the LR was not covered under my plan.

I read the original ESP document and it stated that the powers door lock system was covered (minus my deductible) - except for the fob and exterior door handles.

The dealer was NO help in dealing with the rejection, and I have now filed a complaint with the plan and disputed the charge with my credit card.

My long point - even when you read the paperwork provided with the Ford warranty and/or service plan, you can encounter problems with Ford.

My Ford Blue Advantage Gold Certified warranty document says "We require that you return to your selling dealer or any other Ford franchised dealership in the United States". So any Ford dealer will work. I'll also say the warranty states it is provided by "Ford Motor Company", not the dealer where I purchased.
