So i was under the expedition doing an oil change yesterday and noticed a green fluid that had leaked down on the passenger side. It was flowing down the crossmember and upper suspension mount. I followed it back up and it looks like it is coming from what appear to be AC lines? I will get some pictures but these are two lines that go from in front of the radiator and what i think is a drier hidden behind the radiator mount. One of the lines splits into two the other is covered with the plastic conduit, it looks like this is the one that it is leaking at one of the crimp fittings. Normally i would be pretty confident this is AC related (I have the rear air and think that is most likely where these lines go) but the antifreeze green coloring has me questioning that. Is the AC oil green like antifreeze on these?

P.S. the truck is not having any coolant related issues, like overheating, or no heat inside the vehicle etc.

Do you have a UV flashlight that you can look at the lines with ? You can clean off the UV dye with brake cleaner, then see where it's actually coming from. That's the condenser in front of the radiator. Are you the original owner? Or did a previous owner add the dye to the AC system? Do you have AC manifold gauge set that you can check your freon charge with ?

I have 2004 Expy and I'm pretty sure the AC oil is not green. I have seen strange coolant leaks appear a fair distance from the actual source.
You could mark or note exactly where your coolant level is in your reservoir (black sharpie) and verify if it decreases over a few days or week. I had to take mine to a professional once to find a hose leak hidden under intake manifold, and the crazy thing was that it only leaked occasionally and not everyday.....go figure.

To answer both, I am not the original owner so someone may have added some type of die. I do have a black light that may work, i will try that. does the condenser have a drier can mounted there on the passenger side kind of behind the core support?

As for coolant, i understand completely what you are saying about leaks looking like they are coming from one area. The thing with this one is everything around this line is dry and dusty and it looks like it is coming from crimp fitting on the line. But i will try your suggestion with the reservoir, the puddle in the garage was very small so which ever it was it just started leaking.

Yes, behind the passenger-side headlight assembly. Brake cleaner spray will clean off old dye so you can see where the stuff is actually coming from. Do you have a AC gauge set to check your AC charge ?

No i do not have a gauge set to check it. If it is AC, I assume this would affect the entire system not jus the rear air? We could live with jus the front working since as the kids are older now we rarely have anyone in the back.

A bit late to this thread, but I can confirm that the factory AC dye is a green/florescent type color. My compressor was leaking last summer, and my first thought was "that is some odd looking engine coolant". Mine is also 2004, and it was leaking down from the compressor onto the steering rack.
