I have a 2001 Expedition so take this for what it is worth. Michelin LTX tires. The car has close to 300,000 miles and it’s only on its 3rd set of tires since new. I average 100-110,000 miles on each set. I would say they they are worth the extra money..

I have 22's and thought the original Hankooks we're passable when new. At 35k they're a bit more than half gone so I worried about them in the snow. I just put on Conti Terrain Contact and they are great, much better in the snow.

Whoa, that is incredible! I got about 85k out of my LTX (again, not on an Expedition), and replaced my first set of Kumho Crugen HT51's at about 72k. They may have had a little more in them, but would not have gone as long as the Michelins. However, because of a special at the time (sale price plus $100 Visa gift card if you bought 4), my first set of Kumho's cost just over half the price of the Michelins. The second set was a little over 70% as much. It looks like in Expedition size they are closer in price though. I believe both carry 70k treadwear warranties now, but I am not certain on that. My first set only had a 60K treadwear warranty, best I recall, as they had just come out. I figured at half the price, I only needed about 50k miles for them to be worth it, and they outperformed my expectactions by quite a bit. The Kumho start with a little deeper tread in some sizes, too. 12/32" compared to 10.5/32" in 285/45R22, for example.

Those tires are horrible, lack traction even in light wet weather turning.

I was skeptical of the Hancock tires, Michelins are the best tires out there, but I have to give them props, these tires have been great in the Michigan weather, Rain, mud, slush, snow. We will see how long they last? I had bridgestones on my last SUV. JUNK, went through two pairs
