Hello I just purchased a 2024 Ford Timberline. January 10th when I got home I locked the car from KeyFob if I pressed lock button more then once the alarm would activate. The next morning I tried to go start the vehicle and the alarm would active then the vehicle would start . Called dealership right away and they have had the car for over a month they think it might be a cable to the door but they are not sure they said this is something they have never seen before. Any suggestions

You turned your car over to the dealer for a month because the alarm goes off if opened while locked?

They surely aren't working on it everyday so you'll need to make sure they keep trying and not just leave it sit. Talk to your service writer. Ask what they've done to check it. Ask if they've reached out to tech support since they haven't figured it out, or if they've ordered parts that may be on backorder. If you don't like what the service writer has to say I would escalate to the Service Manager and then call Ford.

Suggestion: Research the vehicle lemon law for your state. You have been without your new vehicle for more than a month and your authorized Ford dealer is unable or unwilling to fix it.

If your vehicle qualifies - proceed with a lemon law vehicle repurchase (or new vehicle if allowed in your state).

Id do whatever I can NOW to get rid of it (get all your money back). I smell random component electrical problems in your future with that particular vehicle or it could just be a bad sensor haha

I really wish alarms were optional. In all my years owning cars with alarms in them the only thing they have accomplished is going off when I don't want them to go off and causing all kinds of noise. The Expedition is no different. Every time I leave the dog in the care I have to remember to disable the motion sensors. I remember about 75% of the time. The other 25% the alarm goes off while I am in the store!

Make the car impossible to hot wire and be done with alarms already...

i've had very few problems over the decades with FACTORY alarm systems, its the aftermarket stuff that butchers things. Ok, when i was driving 80s/90s Mercedes (300E etc), the factory alarms on those got sketchy at about 30 years and 250000 miles, solution was to unplug the ATA (alarm) controller, and on the cars with the feature, bypass the starter disable.
