The wife called me and said she thought the trans was going out it was making a grinding noise. I went and picked up the truck and it was fine for about 7-8 miles. then it started making the noise. It was in 2wd. It was not the trans. It sounded like the hubs where trying to engage/ disengage. I'm thinking it is a vacuum problem. 2 weeks ago I done brakes all the way around and noticed the vacuum lines where disconnected. I don't now how long they where like that. I think I'm on the right track. Is there a easy way to trouble shoot this problem. If I put it in AWD and the noise stops, would I be on the right track?
