Is the XLT AUDIO SYSTEM ADEQUATE?

I added a Rockford Fosgate P300-12 Punch 300 Watt Powered Loaded 12-Inch Subwoofer Enclosure in my Expy. Adds much needed bass and was only $199 on Amazon. Also bought a 4 gauge wiring kit to power it. I took the high level signal from the passenger rear speaker.

It has adjustable bass knob so you can rattle the rear glass area when you want and lower it when needed.

The audio in my 2015 xlt frankly sucks. The sound is not bad, but the volumn varies wildly. It is supposed to vary with road speed, or so the owners manual says. As soon as the warranty is up I'll jerk it out and replace it.

I didn't notice that in my 2008, and haven't in my new one but have only had it for a few days. I'm just liking the fact that it connects to my ipod via BT. The sound quality is good enough. I don't expect high end sound in a car.

As I said, it's fine. I haven't tried to compare it to the upgraded system, but the XLT stock system is good enough that I don't see a reason to upgrade. It certainly wouldn't be a factor in deciding between the GM products as IMO the Ford is clearly superior.

The XLT gets the basic 9 speaker stereo (with or without Sync 3), the Limited and Platinum get an upgraded 12 speaker system (with Sync 3). I test drove a Limited, a Yukon XL and a Yukon XL Denali, but didn't turn on the stereos in any of them. It is a significant upgrade over the system in our Odyssey. That said, why are you buying one of these huge trucks? Is it just because you like to buy big vehicles or are you actually planning to tow something with it, or something else? I ask because depending on what you plan to do with it, you might end up with one or the other. Hint: it's a lot cheaper and easier to upgrade speakers than it is to increase the payload capacity or ground clearance and approach angles.

I havent spent any time in tahoe or yukon denali, they use different bose systems from my understanding. As i said before, my dads escalades bose system was nice, and the b&o is comparable. If you want the best sound system in your truck, you may want to listen to the upgraded revel unit in the navi or the mark levinson in the lx570
