Pretty impressed. Just hauled my 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP from southern Illinois to Fort Worth, TX on a U-Haul car hauler.

2014 Short Limited, 57000 miles. 2nd week.owning it.

Pulled very well. Engine never worked hard at all. MPGs were much better than I anticipated. Long highway stretches at 60 mph at 1600 RPM in tow mode, 14-15 mpg at speed, 12 overall.

Although you didn't mention overall towed weight, 14-15 at 60mph is very good, I would say.

Glad you like the vehicle!

My 2014 Expy Limited 4x4 with HD towing package. Pulled a u-haul auto transport trailer with my 1964 Buick Convertible on it from Kansas To Biloxi MS, average 60 to 70 MPH and got 13 to 14 MPG. Car weighs around 3,200 lbs. That U-Haul Auto transport has to weigh around 1,800 lbs. So all in say 5,000 lbs. I was pleased with this.

I have since bought a enclosed all aluminum 22' v-nose trailer, weighs empty at 2,300 lbs. Towed the same car from Kansas to Oklahoma City and got 8 to 9 mph also at 60 to 70 mph. All in at 5,500 lbs but is somewhat a sail if the wind is wrong. I would have thought the mileage would be a little better. Going to pull this thing to Reno NV in August and see how it does. I like the extra protection and security a enclosed trailer has but like anything else you pay for it.

I think the frontal area of what you are towing affects mpg also. The whole car and trailer fits behind the expedition lol... i was really happy with the mileage.... way better than the 9 or 10 I was expecting. .This Expedition is 2WD..

I should have been about 5800 total trailer weight.

UHaul list the empty trailer as 2210, and the 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP coupe lists at about 3400. My specific car has probably 200 extra pounds, with some gas, chrome wheels, and a strobe system with molded wing, etc. It is a retired pace car.

WOW thats very encouraging, before I bought my 14 Expedition, I had an 02 Explorer with the 4.6L V8, had to tow an open trailer one time from SC to VA round trip to pickup a long arm sewing machine for the wife, total weight(trailer & machine) was in the 1000-1500lb range, and I only got around 11mpg on that trip. I could tell the engine was struggling to maintain speed So if you got 12-14 in the Expy, that's very encouraging!!!
