Looking for a procedure on how to replace the moonroof track on this 2013 Ford Expedition

Nothing easy about it unfortuantely. Did it once on my 2010, now I have a 2017 and opened the sunroof once and pulled the fuse not to open again.

I very, very rarely use my sunroof, but tonight I did so and was swiftly punished for the decision. The sunroof opened, but I could hear something crack as it did so. It then got stuck open very shortly before we had a torrential downpour. Fun times. Anyway ... The motor is still...

I really do hope for your sake that it failed in the closed position.....if so I would start saving up to get it done by the dealership or if you can find a good body shop thats done this. The track on my 2020 Limited Max blew up and I saw what they had to do to replace everything. Its not a one man job and they had tools for that installation. It's my understanding that typically one piece fails and quickly takes out other pulleys and cables. The final tab was $5000.
Thankfully I spent the money for the Ford extended warranty otherwise it would be sealed up until further notice.
I customized an E250 van back in the 80's and the sunroof opened with 2 flip up handles to vent... or I could pull the retaining pis out and remove them completely.

I forgot to mention that anyone with the sunroof option should put together a kit with a FULL ROLL roll of duct tape and a sheet of the thickest plastic roll you can find and scissors. You have to cut a piece from the sheet long and wide enough to cover the opening you end up with if it seizes up, because it won't happen in your driveway or the parking lot of a dealership. Once you put the sheet in place and tape it to hold in place ..then you have to cover the entire sheet of plastic with duck tape "straps" across the roof and around the rain gutter underneath and inside far enough that the top of the doors close over the duct tape. Anything less than complete coverage with tape will fail in the first 3 miles unless you drive at 15 or 20 miles per hour...ask me how I know
