New here. Hello. Hi.

Looking at an Expedition but the guy hit a massive pothole and 2 bars came loose in the rear. Trying to determine if they're track bars or something else. Seem to go lengthwise but didn't get a good look.

If they are track bars, can they be bought somewhere besides a dealer? Can't seem to find them at local places like Advance Auto.

May be a stabilizer or lower control arm.
Trying to narrow it down so I can bring parts with me

The lower control arms are fairly rust prone. Many members here have replaced them. It would not surprise me if they broke if subjected to extreme conditions. I would be somewhat concerned with the condition of the driveshaft and U-joints among other things if they did let go.

There is one track bar that runs parallel to the axle.

Then there is the rear sway bar with its 2 end links.

I replaced my rear control arms, both upper and lower with PMT control arms.

+1 on Tom's advice. My trailing (control) arms had holes the size of silver dollars in them when I replaced mine. I have only done the lower arms since the upper ones are not as prone to rusting through.

I also used PMT. Kind of on the expensive side, but they serve a very important purpose so it is money well spent in my mind. More than likely the bars that are broken are in the shape of a very skinny horseshoe? Basically there is an opening in the middle that snow/salt packs into and rusts from the inside out.
