Hey guys,
so I'm the proud owner of a 2025 Ford Expedition with 7,000 miles on the clock. I've been dreaming of this car ever since it came out. I managed to buy a very nice Platinum version with the Stealth Package in the fantastic Glacier Gray Metallic color and a black interior. The car is already in a container on a ship and on its way to Poland, where I live. Unfortunately, Ford doesn't sell the Expedition in Europe, so the only option is to import it individually. I can't wait to take delivery.
I also have a few questions for you, 2025 Expedition owners.
1. Is it true that the Active and Platinum models differ in the type of headlights? Yes, I know they all have LED headlights, but I read somewhere that the Active has a static version, while the Platinum has a dynamic LED version, which means the lights follow the steering wheel and turn first before the car turns. Is this really the case, or is it just AI ********? Please don't confuse it with ADB (Adaptive Drive Beam = Matrix LED).
2. In YouTube videos and on various forums, users write that the lights in their 2025 Expedition are acting strangely and have a dark spot on the driver's side. Have you actually noticed this while driving at night? I'm asking because, to me, it means the lights are asymmetrical, as required in Europe, so I won't have to modify them.
3. The VIN decoder on the NHTSA website states that every 2025 Expedition is compatible with Adaptive Drive Beam (=Matrix LED in Europe). From what I've been able to determine, the ADB function is disabled in the US due to ridiculous regulations. Has anyone managed to enable ADB using ForSCAN by changing the hexadecimal codes (as-built codes) in the factory software?
4. Finally, I have a huge request for those using the Platinum version – could any of you take a photo/short video of the low beams in the evening against the wall of a house or garage door, at a distance of 5-7 meters (16-23 feet) from the wall (the car must be parked on level ground). I'd like to see how the light line is arranged, i.e., whether it's truly asymmetrical or not. Many thanks in advance.
